This is an interesting take. Especially coming from someone who looks to win in the sim and former BaF champ. I agree that sometimes the player IRL is really worth taking a chance on, but then the ratings drop and you find out their sim impact is little to none. How do you balance waiting for the sim to hopefully respect them while prioritizing wins at the same time? Especially when you could easily choose to invest in a "sim-friendly" player.

The balance between trading for players you really like and winning at the highest level can be challenging to accomplish, but I can only imagine the joy in the end knowing you believed in a player and seeing them pan out.

it's really just playing the long game honestly. that's why i was so patient with the bam/ayton/tatum/lavine core. i was banking on them getting respect in the sim eventually. its def risky though. a lot of losing those years. but seeing young players pan out is really the best feeling. winning that chip in 2021 was worth the wait lol

im trying this all over again by banking on reaves, simons, collier, trayce jackson davis, and giddey. but im grateful to still win games while watching them develop. im really just crossing my fingers when it comes to hoping the sim respects them and trusting my eye test with young talent

Bane for Kessler is certainly one I would never do IRL.

My most recent big move of Curry for Murray/Rui/draft picks I wouldn't do in real life either.

The Bane/Kessler one worked out...looking forward to see the impact of not having Curry will do to the team.

I think as we have gotten more familiar with the SIM everyone is getting a better understanding. I still think a lot of what translates IRL also translates in the SIM. Obviously you will always have your outliers and such but if you have a lot of good IRL talent you typically will do well in SIM.

ngl it was tough losing. i almost thought of blowing up the core once but i stuck through it lol

major props to you though man. i think you made the boldest move of all time in baf trading curry for westbrook and it resulting in a chip. i would never have the balls to do that lol

yeah the curry for westbrook one has to be up at the top of the list...major cojones to make that move and it paid off for NE.
