Kolek moves ahead of Cam in the rotation unless Thibs plays them together

Kolek's T-Rex arms means he has limited room for improvement as a man defender, but he will learn the league and become more adept at timing his man to get interceptions, steals and deflections after he gains that player familiarity. He's a smart player who will figure out how to maximize some aspect of his defensive contributions even if he is always going to be at risk of being burned.

Kolek will be one of our clutch players, a guy unafraid to take a big shot. He won't get many opportunities to play hero as long as Brunson is healthy and able to close out the game, but Kolek will at some point show he can make big plays under pressure.

Kolek will optimize our second unit's offensive potential more than anyone else on the team. His offensive contributions will more than compensate for his defensive limitations.

Kolek will become a fan favorite.

Both are needed to have a championship caliber defense as I showed you. Your example was literally a team with two great rim defenders on it.


Good teams? The best teams last year were Boston (they have KP and Al), Mavs (Lively/Gafford aren't spacing bigs), Denver (Jokic/DAJ and AG aren't spacing bigs), OKC (Chet is a spacing big but they're probably starting Hartenstein at C who isn't), and Minny (Gobert isn't a spacing big).


No they didn't. Denver didn't. LA didn't. The Warriors didn't (Looney/McGee/Dray). Cleveland didn't (Thompson).

This is what you think, not objective reality. Reality shows unless you have KP/Horford (two of maybe 8 bigs in the league that both shoot and defend the rim along with JJJ, Wemby, Brook, Myles Turner, Embiid, and Chet) a shooting 5 without a rim defender behind him has never won ****.

The game is played on the court, not in your imagination and the lack of actual teams you can mention here says it all. Like you mentioned the Warriors as if Draymond and Kevon Looney weren't in their starting 5 lol.

If you're talking midrange shooting sure but midrange shooting doesn't lead to 5 out basketball. Objective reality shows Jokic isn't a 3 point shooter, regardless of what the realgm Knicks board thinks. I know what I see and opposing coaches know what they see which is why teams defend him by turning him into a shooter.
