I feel ya. I was okay with Scheierman at the time but he wasn’t my first choice either. Now I wish Brad had traded down/out to replenish future draft capital. Or picked someone else, frankly. We will see on Flip. I like a little more defense out of my bigs, but I get why you’re high on him.

In the NBA 2 way wings are the most valuable archetype. But we’re in such a uniquely advantageous position where we already have two All NBA wings and also maybe the best bench wing in Hauser. And then in preseason both Walsh and Drew Peterson looked better than Baylor and Baylor already 24 yrs old, and we used a 1st on him so we have to spend the effort to develop him. And we just don’t really need him.

I’d rather we’d given Drew Petersen a min deal and let Jordan Walsh try to play a little bit. If we’d traded down/out we’d have like two or three additional future seconds or the overseas rights to Juan Nunez or Alex Toohey (if we had promised him and he stayed in) or whatever. I’m not liking how our 2024 draft went so far, giving me JR Giddens vibes, unfortunately.

playa-hater wrote:I am not shy about posting who I like or wanted before the draft and giving updates on players. I wanted Boston to get Filipowski as my first choice of available. He looked very smooth and quite comfortable in shooting his 3s yesterday. Small sample size but again looked quite natural going 3 for 4 from deep. I'll stand by my assertion he would end up being the best center Boston would have within the year (KP not included) not to mention how well he would have fit with Boston's roster and BB philosophy.

And this is regardless of how well BS turns out for us.

Waving my hand here. I was on the Edey ban-wagon. maybe even the president. while he will struggle with some negatives, I still believe people are way underestimating his potential positives. time will tell.

I still remember during the mid 1980s, as a young man going right up to the ticket counter at MSG moments before the game and buying tickets for a playoff game between the NYK and Boston. Times have changed.

side not.. witnessing MVP Bird going against the Epic scoring performances of Benard King (scoring around 50 with double teams) was legendary. Glad I was there in person. will never forget.

Hoping we add 12 players to this list this season.

Danny Green (three-time champ), who could've joined this list above had he signed with a team, just announced his retirement.

EDIT to OP: It might be more than 12 additional players -- JT, JB, White, KP, Horf, PP, Hauser, Tillman, Kornet, Queta, Walsh, Springer, Davison, Peterson. Makes 14.

Kendrick Perkins apparently has a new company that exploits college students. Cool cool.

I saw a quote from Dame Lillard a few weeks ago about he's healthier than ever and is going to show everyone. Last night the Bucks played their 1st game and he limped to the locker room in the first half. Middleton also still out. I'm finding it hard to get very worried about the Bucks these days.

Trivia Thursday!!!
• There are only 8 active players who have won the regular season MVP award. Only two are in the East -- Embiid and Giannis.

• There are only 7 active players who have won the Finals MVP award. Only two are in the East -- Brown and Giannis.

• There's only 1 active player who's won both RS and Finals MVP awards in the same season -- Lebron (2x).

I don't really post on any football boards, so I'll go on the record here and say I hate that the Patriots are starting Drake Maye in about 20 minutes. I understand the team is unbearable to watch right now, but you're screwing with the long term future of the franchise by putting him out there. I'd prefer to let him sit like Brady and Mahomes did. But a large section of the fanbase wants instant gratification, and they're going to get it.

Maybe I'm wrong and he'll look awesome and won't take a beating. I just pray we don't turn him into Jim Plunkett or David Carr or Andrew Luck.

He looked ok. made some mistakes as you'd expect for his first start, but also made some really nice plays. took a few hits but his legs got him out of a few more. it's nice to have a QB who isn't a statue. the offense has way more big play potential with maye. needs to cut down on the mistakes, but you could say that for the whole team, not to mention the coaches.

pats are going to suck for a while, and the OL is going to take at least 2 years to fix. can't sit maye that long.

Gotta think Joel's knee problems are just chronic at this point. He played the Olympics and there's been no reported injury since then. Sixers tried to put a positive spin on this announcement but it seems pretty sketchy.

Embiid's head problems are more significant than his knee problems. As I've said before he sucks the air out of his teammates. Every game is all about him.
