It woke up a few sleeping giants as you said and there are 10-15 teams that will dominate every year and yeah, there will be more parity in that group. There will be a rotating group of 20 teams that will accidentally make the playoffs once every 5-10 years but will also have 4-5 bad/mediocre years in there, which probably includes the Badgers (I hope).
At large, people will love the big matchups and middling fanbases may come alive for 2 year periods when they luck into a run and then lose by 30 in the playoffs to a superpower. It will probably do well, but as a fan of one of those middling teams, I'm not as excited.
Dude, just stop watching the Badgers and Brewers. It sounds absolutely miserable.
I like the Brewers because they can win in a pro league, with access to all of the same players even with payroll disparity.
If they develop their own star player, which is easier to do because they get to participate in the draft or regulated international signing, rather than mostly regional selection of players in college sports, they player is basically forced to stay for 6 year and they can trade such a player for more value if they so choose.
Yes, I've started to lose interest in the Badgers. It's true. I don't watch nearly as much anymore. I do still love watching the sport at-large because I love football and it's still fun to pick one of those top teams each year to cheer for.
