Maybe some of you recall Randle had a terrible start last season and then pulled himself together.

Were we gelled as a team last pre-season?

the comments in here trivialize the process of getting new guys to sync up with each other

it is because you probably consider Randle a big and Zion a big...and I will tell your right now your defense would be way worse with Randle or Zion at the 5 than OG at the 5. If you can defend the position I don't care what they call you big or not big.

That is why its semantics.

Randle and Zion can rebound. OG can't. Randle was primarily a C before backing up Brook Lopez and Zion regularly plays C because of his strength and verticality. OG ain't play a minute at C in his life.

OG has actually guarded Embiid and Jokic at times. So maybe not a minute of "center" on offense but he surely has switched and played the 5 on defense before.

And when has Zion ever been considered a good rebounder? Also rebounding is just one thing its all about the ability help protect the rim.

Also that is why you have Josh Hart. He provides rebounding at the guard/wing position that no team has.

He's guarded 5s on switches. So has Jalen Brunson. If you have an opening tip off and OG Anunoby is doing it you taking the L. My point in bringing this up is if KAT and Mitch are out Precious is starting at C, not OG because he isn't a big. That's why teams try to keep to 5 guards, 5 wings, 5 bigs.

And Zion is an amazing rebounder. Rebounds per game don't determine how good or bad of a rebounder you are. Outside of when they had Josh Hart on the squad he's always had a very positive rebounding +/-.

And Hart helps, but only against guys that are primarily garbage bigs. Anyone that can make their way near the rim against OG in the post will get easy putbacks.

Thibs isn't playing OG at C. Like it's not happening.

He's a kind person and he is not the strongest big, he can get pushed around, he's not physically the biggest guy either. So yea, he's not Mr. Knock heads bruiser. That said, because Jimmy basically came out and said "SAWFT!" when he was unhappy and wanted a new contract, everyone just jumped down Towns throat and labeled him a chump. Dude isn't soft, dude balls every night. He has flaws and he has deficiencies but he's a damn fine players who brings it and does a lot on a floor. People act like he's trash after the Butler situation and its so frustrating to see.

Nah people labeled KAT soft mainly because of his interior defense and voice if we being real.

Hilariously enough he's anything but soft on offense. I'd even say he needs to be softer, he does too much sometimes lol.

It was an ember and some sparks before that. After Butler went off and Towns followed it up with some really bad performances it became a damn wild fire. He has just started to quiet some of it in the last playoffs. I think he will put a lot of it to bed on the Knicks.

I think it's beyond him now. At best he'll pivot from soft to corny like Russ Wilson lol.

Not gonna freak out on the shots not going in. More in game action will get this team in rhythm.

There's really not much more shooting around him. We lost Randle/Donte...we gained KAT. Bridges CANNOT shoot.

Another thing…I know Josh Hart uses pre-season as cardio…in fact the first month of the season for him might as well be scrimmage but he’s not even attempting to look at the basket. Man just dropped 15-11.5-4.5 in the playoffs but he don’t even wanna be there. Mans had one too many microphones this summer

this will be a process...its a very new team players trying to find there way

there will be games where he scores like 14pts and be well worth the investment from all the other things he does.

we just need to be patient with it.

It's apparent that the team is spending its practice time trying to get to work better together and they haven't game planned Minnesota very much. This is a preseason game and I plan to enjoy the fun and not be too critical.

But when the season starts, those biatches better produce!

Spoiler:
-
Actually, Thibs screws around a lot the 1st 20 games of the season, for some reason, exploring the combinations. After that, the team settles down and works.

I'm not worried about Hart either

he shows up when it matters

he admits practices and preseason is not something he likes or wants to do...he will be ready for the season
