There's zero tangible benefit to putting a Republican in a Cabinet position. It will not sway Republican voters. It will not help unobstruct Republicans in Congress, and in almost any situation the Dem position would be better

It just shows Dems have learned nothing from the last nearly 2 decades of Republican hyper-partisanship. But "we need a strong Republican party" after all.

Cabinet is pretty broad. Does it matter if the Deputy Secretary of the VA a Republican or if Ambassador to Finland is Adam Kinzinger? Maybe she just lets Christopher Wray finish his term in the FBI. This freak out is idiotic. Remember Biden said the same thing and there was a huge freakout, only for him to appoint Bernie to part of his transition team and make cabinet decisions based on input from the Progressive wing of the party.
