Dude is clutch. Been with us 5 minutes and had a game winning bucket and clutch freebies at the end of games a couple times.

Yep, i'd be surprised if the starters play. If they do, it'll be for 10-12 minutes max I'd guess.

Any stat predictions for this season?

Butler - 19.9ppg, 5.1rpg, 5.5apg
Adebayo - 21.6ppg, 10.2rpg, 3.5apg
Herro - 20.4ppg, 5.1rpg, 4.5apg
Rozier - 15.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 5.1apg
Jovic - 10.3ppg, 6.0rpg, 3.1apg
Jaquez - 13.5ppg, 5.1rpg, 3.1apg
Robinson - 11.0ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.5apg

They look like the key rotation guys, with a few others filling in the blanks. Might be optimistic to expect all of them hit double figures, but I think it's doable.

I preferred watching our 3rd string guys play than our bench. Irrational hatred for Smith is the reason I’m sure. Just don’t see how or why a 2-way player is the first one off the bench in preseason, all while we wait for the last 2 minutes of the game to play our first rounder :banghead: :banghead:

Bam really is turning into all the things that y'all thought he could be, first rook to do so since Wade. RARE!

Long Live Winnie. Mamba siempre

Sorry I'm late to the party. Has we discussed how ass Dru Smith is yet?

Also, wtf is Thomas Bryant playing?

Big picture

Could they reinvent their stagnant offensive approach? All signs points to Yes, they've changed. Ball and bodys moves with speed. No unnecessary midrange twos. Pushing the ball in transition. The end result is of course to be seen.

Can the starting 5 work as a unit on both ends? All signs points to yes. They've admittedly faced three bad teams happy to win 30 games but also missed a bunch of wide open 3s. Process does look improved. Bam has a +15 net as proxy basicly only playing with and against starters due to preseason hockey lineups.

Have they solved the backup PG and C minutes? No. Love still makes it work but not for more than 10 minutes every other game. Smith and Bryant on the floor at the same time is obviously a losing tandem.

Ware and Pelle need to insert themselves here. This is a great opportunity to get minutes alongside solid backup wings in Highsmith, Jaime and DRob.

3 guys that can't play defense + one aging declining veteran ... that's a definite no. We're going to be a mess on both ends.

That's definitely the strong consensus from pundits and fans based on last season.

I belive they have three strong defenders and will be good on that end. Offense to be average if they continue to commit to what they've started to implement.

Butler should be nicer to cp3, they may end up being teammates in San Antonio by the deadline.

So, nobody mentioning much about Butler's declining game? Maybe he's one of the few players who keeps his body in shape all year long and does what is needed to be a high-level player into his late 30s?

with all the talk here about the heat reinventing themselves. lets keep it real, its just pre season and while the games have been fun to watch things could change when the real season starts. lets enjoy what we have right now

Starters Min Reb Ast Stl Blk Pts
Jimmy ButlerF 23:31 4 1 3 1 12
Nikola JovićF 23:31 3 1 3 1 7
Bam AdebayoC 23:31 3 2 3 2 20
Tyler HerroG 23:31 1 4 1 0 14
Terry RozierG 23:31 5 5 0 2 5

bam was really good last night but he needs to much more. jimmy was not that good but he had key baskets here and there but 12 pts wont be enough in the regular season much more will be needed from him as well

i cannot give a pass to jovic anymore. he has to start to contribute more too. herro and rozier seems pretty confident on their approach but as part of the starting lineup 14-5 are not enough.

the balanced approach only works when we have decent nights agaisnt mediocre or slumping teams. good to great times will give us a run for our money

It's preseason so most aren't going full speed although I am worried about the backcourt, it's not like they're lighting things up offensively and it will get picked apart defensive and so far, it's been scoring based off volume shooting.
Vs SA... 19 pts on 21 shots.
Vs NO... 23 pts on 18 shots.

If the backcourt is going to put up a ton of shots, this team may not be all that efficient which is crazy since Herro is such a good 3pt shooter, but his quicker shot is a work in progress, Rozier though is who he is.

Elite efficiency from Bam and Jimmy these first 3 games, hopefully it carries over but I fear they’ll be deferring to far lesser players in Herro and Rozier since they’re Swiss Army knife guys who impact the game several ways.

Terrys playmaking looks good but he’s been super inefficient scoring, Tyler is just more of the same we’ve already seen from him. Jimmy looks like Jimmy, Bams improved again, and the young guys/Burks look solid. Outside of that not much else worth mentioning so far
