This was the easiest call ever. What on earth was Embiid thinking to say something that is so obvious a red flag?

We're an inept organization with a flawed plan. Everything is dependent on Embiid being fully healthy.... and it's foolish to expect he ever will be. It's not like he's going to get more durable with age.

Moreover, we managed to plummet his value just a few days after signing him to an extension. It's no wonder why we can never get past vastly superior organizations like Boston.

You can be transparent without being 100% specific so as not to arouse suspicion. Do the Sixers have a press secretary? Get a message and then get everyone else on that message.

Load management is the key for Joel and he shouldn't be playing close to 40 min per game. I would restrict him to 31 min per raking long breaks unless it's a close game. No back to back and will not play that injured like he was in the last playoffs ever again.

PG should be able to cover for him when he's out just like he has for Kawhi.

Sixers interested in acquiring PJ Tucker per reports. My guess is they're being thrown in there for leverage, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

And Barkley on this subject is way off the mark. Everyone trashes Embiid for not being able to stay healthy. Now they're trying to keep him healthy and they're trashing him for this too. Not to mention he could legitimately be hurting. No one knows what's going on. People just want to trash him because he's the low hanging fruit and an easy target to pile on.

Let me get this straight....If we're struggling to make the playoffs in Feb.-Apr. Embiid won't play in back to back games?

Hopefully we don't have to find out. But we all know Joel now, he's inclined to play even when the team doesn't want him too. I imagine that wouldn't change if it comes down to it.

The funny thing about keeping Embiid healthy for the playoffs is that they've already done that. And twice he got hurt WITHIN the playoffs. He tore his hand and broke his face vs Toronto and another year he tore his knee up vs the Nets.

So even that strategy hasn't mattered much.

The best thing he can do that he can control is stop trying those chase down blocks from behind. Those things are the most dangerous things he does.

I get that saying he won't be playing B2Bs will annoy some people, but personally I really prefer them giving details like that over this current thing where he's just "progressing" and we don't know what is expected or has to happen. They really can't say "if all goes well we think he'll scrimmage on Monday and Tuesday and then hopefully play Wednesday or Saturday"? They've been doing this for years and I don't expect it to change but it would be nice.

In terms of Barkley bringing up his contract, (a) no one pocket watches quite like ex-pro athletes, and (b) surely part of the reason why they are approaching it this way is *because* the Sixers want to protect the investment they just made.

Jake Fischer (...) reported today that the Sixers are trying trade for a Kuminga-like player

tradeable salary / up for big payday

“a lot of willingness to go deep into the tax” (most important detail)

Kuminga wants a max extension. They are already wasting enough money. Could try to lift Jacquez out of Miami. Tari Eason everybody likes and Houston can't extend everybody and go 2nd apron before even making a playoff run.

Really hoping it’s Eason. Would love a McCain-Eason swap.

I like the guys mentioned but they're not necessarily apples-to-apples. Both Eason and Jaquez are locked into at least another year so you would definitely pay a premium to get them.

Might still be worth it depending on how much Miami/Houston are willing to let them go for.

Embiid has to play like 30 games for the Sixers to make the playoffs.

Meh
If he only plays 30 it’s a play in team imo

I keep being confused by this. I'd be excited if we got Eason but he won't come cheap at all--at minimum be McCain + good pick(s)--plus he's a weak shooter that we don't know could be playable deeper in the PO. Do folks just think he'd be relatively cheap because HOU has too many young guys?
