Toast Stevenson
amazingly, that was his 3rd worst moment of the game. at least he recovered to attempt to knock the ball down there
It seems like the real problem here is that the Bears didn't have someone behind the scrum in case of a deflection. Was that Stevenson's job? If so, he did screw up. But it seems more likely it was a safety's job- either Byard or Hicks. It's quite likely that Brisker being out injured made a difference here.
And as was said above, although Stevenson looks like an ass for not having his head in the game, he was the guy who broke up the initial pass, and that shows his size and athleticism, to out jump the receivers here.
I sort of agree with whoever suggested benching him for a game though. The coaches and the vets on the team need to have a good talk with him and let him know that sort of thing just won't be tolerated. He 's got to stop getting flags for unsportsmanlike conduct, he's got to stop jawing so much, and let him know if he can't control himself better, he's not going to play. He's got the ability to be a lock down corner and a difference maker, he just has to get his emotions under control.
