Don't be shy in giving props where it's due.

Somehow they drafted a dude in the late first round who's got all the best traits of Deni and Kispert combined. I was pretty mad when they traded Gafford, expecting another Chris Singleton, but I was not familiar with Will Dawkins' game.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

So far so very very good!
Bilal looks absolutely terrific; moving up to draft this kid seems to have been brilliant.
Sarr is obviously dripping with athleticism & talent.
Bub has flashed greatness a few times. I'm really looking forward to following his career.
Kyshaun Gorge is obviously skilled & has a TON of upside.
& we have accumulated a big load of draft capital.
We are also in position to add a real stud in next year's draft -- & quite possibly the following year as well.

I'm starting to fall in love with this team again, and I mostly thank Dawkins. So far it's been a pleasure watching "The Rebuild Process" play out under this regime. Seeing Bilal's development after just one season, plus the clear upside in Sarr/Bub/George, gives me full confidence in our Scouting/Player Development staff. I hope Dawkins figures out a way to move Kuz, Brogdon and JV for as many picks as possible. "Picks and patience," is my new mantra and it brings me hope.

I like the fact that they aren't rolling over in contract negotiations. I don't see them giving out bad contracts like we used to see routinely.

I would not have given Corey a new contract, same for Anthony Gill, they aren’t bad contracts, but I would not have re-signed them. Glad to see us moving-on from Davis/ PBJR:

Identifying and targeting Keyshawn on draft night is impressive work, I wonder if Bub was also the target at 14.

I’m fairly certain the Zards targeted Bub. The injured Topic went two picks before Bub and the 6-2 Devin Carter went one pick before him. Topic doesn’t have the defensive chops that this Zards FO seems to want and Carter doesn’t fit the positional size profile they seem to be prioritizing.
Bub was clearly the guy they wanted, imo.

Yeah, it seems obvious Bub was the guy they were after. Certainly that was the word at the time, & they had him in for a last-minute workout.
Obviously, they also had decided they wanted Kyshaun & weren't willing to risk missing him, given that they traded 26 plus 51 for 24.
So far at least, both those decisions are looking very smart.

Re: The Official Will Dawkins / Wiz Front Office Appreciation Thread
It's been amazing to watch. For the past several years, we've looked smaller and slower and the other team and it seems like that's changed overnight.
I hated the Gafford trade - the one guy who had some fire to him the past few years. But they definitely found a guy with George.

I've enjoyed seeing Gafford succeed in Dallas.
Imagine having Gafford and Sarr. I think the Wizards are one solid post player from being competitive.

Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Gafford and Sarr would have been nice. But I prefer Sarr …along with K. George, who the Zards got with the draft pick they got from Dallas for Gaff.
Plus Jonas V. gives the Zards the rebounding they didn’t get from Gaff.

Yeah, if that post player was Nikola Jokic or Anthony Davis.
