If we kicked Doc upstairs & replaced him on the cheap w/ the Prunt Gawd or Jagermeister, for it to be palatable for the owners financially, that would probably be the lesser of evil at this pt. Convince Doc by telling him he's freed up for more tee times.

Looks like the Bleacher Report article was bogus. It's been heavily edited and removed the all the Doc BS.

The quote was from a CBS "report" that BR was aggregating from.

Decent Yahoo article summing up the current state of the Bucks including the impact of Horst's whiffs on draft day.

Hindsight if Doc wasn't willing to just do a come in and try to save the season 1 year deal last year they should've not gone with him. He was probably the best 'stabilizing' type option in the middle of a season. But didn't need to commit multi years and tons of money and power. If that wasn't enough for him to give it a try, knowing that if he did a good job that he'd get a 3-4 year deal afterwards, then so be it.
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.

Wtf is the point of doc if he can’t win with dame and Giannis? Just complete incompetence and we are then giving him more power?

"Yet the Bucks — a team with a 36-year-old center, a 34-year-old point guard, a 33-year-old two guard and a soon-to-be 30-year-old face of the franchise — opted to wait on the slim chance he ever turns into something. Meanwhile, more NBA-ready rookies were still on the board, like Suns forward Ryan Dunn, who’s one of the best defenders to enter the NBA in recent memory and making over 40% of his 3s so far."

We would literally be better off just letting AI draft for us.

It was always a panick move to go with him instead of running the year out with Prunty or someone like Jaeger or even Stotts. This board would’ve had a meltdown if we fired Bud from him and this was even worse since you couldn’t fire doc so soon after AG

How many players after Marjon got the year picked up? I don’t think it was a horrible pick and less than 40% chance anyone drafted there ever became better than a vet min, but it’s been obvious for a year he didn’t have it.

But nah, trading Jrue for Dame totally doomed us.

Ugh, KOC.

The Giannis-Dame duo still has a chance to flourish. Statistically, they still rank highly when Giannis screens for Lillard. This is despite the fact that Giannis is a mediocre screener. He’ll often step into the defender and make light contact before slipping toward the rim, whereas Brook Lopez will make hard contact at an angle that gives Lillard a runway to the rim or space to get into his jumper. For now, Lopez sets almost double the number of screens for Lillard that Giannis does. So, Giannis must improve in this department and should prioritize this even if it means receiving fewer shots himself.

https://www.nba.com/stats/players/ball-handler

Lillard: 1st in P&R frequency, 1.37 PPP (97th percentile)

Yeah, I'm finally there. If Dame is on the court then Giannis needs to get the **** out of the way. No more "elbow touches", and no more post-ups. Screen, cut off-ball, learn how to use your gravity as a rim demolisher and let Dame run the offense so you can conserve energy on defense. When Dame's out, then he'll have plenty of chances to run the 4-out Bud system and relentlessly attack off the dribble. This shouldn't be complicated.

The hard part is selling Giannis on it. I feel like with Giannis' physical dominance he could get 20-30 points a night on the easy stuff. Would definitely be a learning process even if there's buy-in but we need it to happen if the Giannis/Dame thing is going to work.

We can't afford to miss on getting value from these picks. Brutal reminder and microcosm of our issues: Value lost.

Lost value means more reliance on the old guard and spare part players no one else wants. This is why the window closes rapidly. We are not filling the tank with any upside or trade value (to grow the ceiling of the team).

Giannis has proven that he doesn't want to change. Just ship him off for KD already so we can get some actual chemistry going before the playoffs.
