Minus the defense, he's the player I would have loved to be.
Honestly, even his defence isn't awful, it's definitely not good, but I expected worse. His positioning has been improved and he seems to be reading the game better. I still think he ends up as a neutral defender within a couple years, which if he can continue refining his offensive game, will be nuts.Morris_Shatford wrote:I thought my expectation of Gradey had gone though the roof!
After reading the last few pages of this thread I guess I would be considered a pessimist in comparison.
Last season I thought at best we were getting a Kapono / Korver / Kennard bench shooter as an absolute ceiling, now I am seeing a Joe Harris / Joe Ingles sort of player who can potentially start and do a few other things on the floor for you.
Not quite at Franz yet but check on me in a month.
I'll keep saying it until I go hoarse, him and Scottie can be our poor mans Jokic/Murray.
He is extremely smart. Even when he was playing like crap in the first few months of his professional career, you could tell he had a very high IQ and he understood where he needed to be. That anticipation is going to make him a better defender.
