Said it in the game thread but we’re cooked until Giannis leaves and we can start a rebuild. We have a terrible roster outside Dame, Giannis and Midds; we’re over the apron which hamstrings any moves we can make; and we have no assets even if there was a move to be made.

The only hope at this stage is that Midds comes back and things start to click a bit again with him being the glue guy the team needs.

We still have no idea what the identity of this side is meant to be. The exact same problem we had under Griffin.

Doc not wanting Giannis on KAT is interesting and probably not wrong either to be fair. I don't know how we solve that Giannis issue but it needs to be looked at seriously.

This is independent if there's a personnel problem. Horst should go too. But this change is obvious. I'm in the rooting for l's phase.

Embarrassing quote. 1) it took an entire half+ to realize it was a mistake?? 2) "we would have had to put him on Anunoby" .... uh 30% 3P shooter Josh Hart exists, could have hung out in the paint all night

Nope. No pick. So we can't even enjoy the loses once it really gets out of hand...

It seems nobody has any clue if our pick is protected next year, I've seen people saying nope it's not and others saying it's top 4 protected. I found an article from NO saying the 2025 first was top 4 protected, so which is it?

It is an incredibly easy Google search away.

'25 1st is to NOP, Top-4 protected. If it is outside the Top-4 it goes to BKN.

'26 1st NOP has swap rights, no protections.

Won't happen. If there was a deal out there it would have happened by now. Dame and Giannis are the only two players with actual trade value.

We couldn’t even get a future first for Brook this offseason. I don’t see a useful player coming back unless they are on a long term bad contract.

Pat and Bobby are at a salary that should be movable, but again the player you’re getting back is someone underachieving somewhere else or on a long term deal.

Knicks have a bunch of 3 point shooters, and we were hiding Dame on Hart a lot.

Brook has looked like he a always had on normal rest, but is unable to do anything on the 2nd night of back to backs.

Agree, we were stuck with Brook the second Horst gave him that ridiculous contract.

Meanwhile the Grizzlies are getting the same production from Jay Huff, who opened the season on a 2 way contract.

There's no point to having Brook on the floor if he's defending out to the 3p line all game. Hart is the only matchup that makes sense. Would much rather half OG or Bridges take Dame 1v1 with Brook behind than have Brook allow wide open 3s to a 40%+ shooter and/or get cooked off the dribble while providing no rim protection

Even against a non-shooting center, Brook still requires guards capable of a rear contest to be effective. Against centers that can shoot, he's been unplayable for a long time.

Hiring Doc has been a complete disaster. He may have been the worst possible option.

The vets played like a tired group. There was a lack of consistent effort on defense. Too much ball watching on D from the vets(Giannis/Dame) rotation were horrible especially after second chance opportunities for the opposition.

One other worrying thing is the lack of connection between Lopez and Giannis on offense. Giannis used to throw lobs for Lopez or easy bounce passes to get Lopez some touches but so far this year he has ignored him when he has been open.
