Kid is super impressive. I have trouble coming up with a comparision, he's super unique.

He can anchor your defense, run your offense, and score off the dribble... he's going to be one of those players who sets the culture for a franchise, and assert his dominance.

So far from a finished product, physically and mentally and skill-wise. Easy #1. Biggest prize since… ok, Wemby… but before that, Bron.

Tuesday will be his first real test. So far he has looked the part, but so far it’s been against laughably bad competition.

UK should be a solid team and they have multiple guys in that 6’6-6’9 range.

But ya great to see he has looked the part (outside of the cramps) against the guys he should look the part.

Maybe Kawhi with better passing? Although Kawhi turned into a godly scorer in his prime not sure Flagg gets there, who knows.

Kawhi is the greatest 2-way wing ever this peak.

From an impact ceiling standpoint? Yeah, 2015-2017 Kawhi is the dream. Uber-elite two-way wing impact. DPOY and elite primary scorer. That's the dream ceiling for Coop.

But stylistically?

Kawhi doesn't have Flagg's vertical presence as a paint & rim protector/shot-blocker on defense and an aerial/two-foot finisher on offense. Leonard also has relatively short legs while Cooper has relatively long legs; their stride length and centers of gravity are a little different. So they move differently.

Flagg moves more like flexible fluid/smooth long-striding agile types that change direction well and move excellently in all directions. Guys like Anthony Davis, Kevin Garnett, and Scottie Pippen are prime examples.

Marion/Kirilenko with primary on-ball creation (scoring + playmaking) ability. Something like AK47 on defense with a better passing, more physical/stronger, and aggressive Ingram on offense. That's the ceiling I'd go with.

No he isn't, Spurs DPOY Kawhi's defense never overlapped with his mid range assassin game in Toronto.

Huh? Kawhi finished 2nd in MVP voting in 2016 and was the best player on a 67 win team.

In the 2017 playoffs he averaged 28 ppg on the 53/46/93 splits before rolling his ankle.

His ceiling is a rich man’s Brent Barry. Let’s face it, if he was black, he’d be just another dude.

S3 for race baiting.

Personally think the bias these days more frequently goes the other way.

Eg look up Joe Mazulla’s response as to why people think Sam Hauser is bad at defense.

Rich man’s Brent Barry. Tom Gugliotta. Keith Van Horn. Etc. That’s his ceiling. You’ll see. You’re probably one of those guys who thinks Mac McMclung could be Allen Iverson if he was given a chance

Flagg becoming a great nba player is not out of the realm of possibility. I mean its fine to think he'll be w/e you are imagining but don't start moving goalposts in 3 years if you happen to be wrong. fwiw Barry is a guy who maxed out at being 7th in the league in vorp so rich man's Barry actually projects to being a top 5 player.

Yes, I think Mac McClung could be Allen Iverson. Nailed it. If only he was black the world would see.

Yea agreed, Kawhi seems out of reach for him. Prime Kawhi was comfortably one of the best players of all time, for the few short prime seasons he had. I don’t quite see that potential with Flagg. But he could certainly be good IF he pans out and stays healthy.

Cooper Flagg and Kon play today against Kentucky at 9pm.

Should be a good game. Both are modern offenses that shoot a lot of threes. Kobe Brea on UK is shooting 83% from 3.
