Wow, it would be nice to have a player listen to an assistant try to coach them up instead of one that slaps electronics out of their hands but if you look closely that first player wasn't actually listening and looked like they were disputing the coach's assessment so to speak.

He was not in a good place, death of family (brother?), couldn't focus, I think he stepped down instead of being fired
