Re: PG Celtics - Bucks Fade
I watched the highlights and it took me to watch the first 2 seconds to feel like we are losing again .
2 terrible things happened in the first 2 seconds of the game ....
1. Is Brook starts for us and is on the jumpball
2. Giannis picks up the won jumpball brings the ball up and Dame ... one of the best point guards to ever play the game jogs to the right corner 3 since Giannis aint giving it to him.
Giannis needs to give up the top ot the key playmaking offense when Dame plays ... period.
There alot more to fix but please give the offense keys to Dame since our coaches still promote Random Basketball

Dame played drunk. Just a total liability out there all game. Running into dudes, falling asleep, dude wasn't there.

it was a weird thing for Giannis to do
I think Brown is a lame cornball.
But I agree with you that what Giannis did there was really weird and was a really bad look for Giannis on a 2-8 team that ended up losing the game.
Giannis came out looking like a fool for that. Something like that makes you question how much self awareness he has.
Now if the Bucks were 8-2 and they won the game it's kind of funny. But when you're 2-8 you can't be doing stuff like that.
Imagine if it was the other way around and the Bucks were 9-2 and went into Boston and beat the Celtics to drop them to 2-8 and Brown had done that to Giannis.

Giannis just burned another bridge with a player who liked him ... Jaylen Brown.
I am done , happy to checked off mentally this year. I expect the Bucks to suck big time. I don't think there is a single smart person in the org. I think Dame Lillard is the smartest from top to bottom. If you ask Dame to be a GM , make some moves and set his own system on offense we will look like a contender again. It aint happening though cause its Giannis team and is known he aint that clever. Great character and human being but IQ to slove basketball problems is something else.
Calling out superstars for teaming up was unnecessary , now burns Jaylen Brown for no reason. Maybe Jaylen was thinking about teaming up with you if Boston somehow blow up and you do some stupid embarrassing things.
Jaylen is right ... enjoy while losing I am focused on winning basketball ... that was Giannis mentality almost his whole career.
Giannis picked up stupid habits from Brook , he did things like that, laughing around with opponents .... damn

Horst should've tried to bring in Schröder, would've been a perfect complement to Jrue. Lillard is obviously talented but just seems like a losing player. I'd have to see him with a decent coach though. Doc is here to collect a paycheck, he has nothing to offer.
Dame would be awful in that offense. He can't shoot off the catch.

Jaylen did not like Giannis before this. Don’t you remember Giannis putting his arm in his shoulders/back of neck and Jaylen getting pissed? He’s also a Celtic, they have always hated the Bucks.
Regardless, why can’t the Bucks find a pick like Payton Prichard…

Pritchard publicly asked to be traded from Boston not all that long ago, as recently as June 2023. There were widespread reports of him wanting out at the 2023 trade deadline.
In the 21-22 season he was stuck on the bench behind Smart, Schroeder and others. In 22-23 it was Smart, White and Brogdon.
Pritchard wasn't negative with the trade requests. He loved Boston, but wanted to play and didn't see a path to floor time. The Celtics assessed his trade value but ultimately refused to move him. Then in the fall of 2023 all those trades happened (majorly involving the Bucks) leading to Brogdon being shipped out.
Pritchard then got his role, moving up now to 6th man with Horford starting. I actually didn't think he'd be able to play so consistently, as he'd be targeted on D. But he's turned into a fierce defender, even if quite undersized.

Re: PG Celtics - Bucks Fade
Someone asked in the GT.. why does the pick and roll look better when Dame doesn't run it.. answer.. when Dame has the ball other teams are scared and grabbing/bumping him .. anything.. he's 6'1 and top ten in # of freethrows... we need to figure out how to use that gravity better or get him top 5 in FTs...
I'm glad Giannis is working on his old man fadeaway game... but doing it while tied in the 4th vs the F-ing Celtics is F-ing stupid.. we're going to punt games so that he can prove a point? Let Dame draw fouls and get hot from the line instead of fading away from contact.. Brook had Jrue on him and tried a 12 foot fadeaway... in the damn 4th quarter only down 2. we are a dumb team.. why waste possessions when we have one of the most efficient players in the league on our team. Dame drawing fouls on his worst day is better than those 2 shooting fadeaway mid-range shots... we need coaching

Yup, I gave him a pass last year, let him have an offseason to get his game right. Now we see what he is, a guy who's only concern is getting his buckets, he doesn't give a hoot about winning.

This somehow never seems to get brought up. MIddelton is done. They just dont have an all-star level wing anymore

Re: PG Celtics - Bucks Fade
You don't have to be perfect, but every mistake, every flaw, shrinks the margin for error, and right now we're drowning in mistakes and flaws. Middleton out, Pat and Brook fading, Bobby regressing, the new vets being subpar, Dame and Giannis not always meshing, inconsistent effort on D and on the glass, and a stale offensive scheme.
Regarding the offense (all of these are nba.com stats) - we're 13th in pace, 19th in the league in 3PA per game, and 13th in 3PA frequency. We're 14th in 3P% at 35.6%, so we're not actually shooting terribly from deep.
We're the worst offensive rebounding team in the league (followed by the Suns, which is kinda fun), so we hardly get reloads either.
We're last in the league in assisted 2PA% at 41.2%.
We're 21st in fast break points, and 11th in opponent fast break points (surprising!).
We're a middling paced team that doesn't run much with the best transition attacker in basketball, and a legendary transition three-point shooter. We went from a top 5 3PA team in most Bud years (ironically only 8th the year we won the title) to a bottom half 3PA team after swapping a mediocre shooter for an elite one. We don't pass the ball much, we've stopped cutting, and almost never get the ball to a rolling big. Instead the offense is now focused on isolation, drives, and back-to-the-basket 2PA.
We've gone from a team that usually won the math game, to a team that's getting clobbered by it.

This pretty much sums it up. Anybody wanna take a wild guess as to how many games this season we've "won" the math game (made plus attempted more 3's than the opposition)? Twice. Philly (with their B-squad) and Memphis (we made one more 3 than them). Doc is a **** dinosaur, and we're going nowhere with an offensive scheme straight out of the mid-2000's NBA.

The two main issues are the coach and missing Middleton. One is hopefully fixed soon, the other will depend on how much $$$ they want to burn on coaches. I firmly believe Ham and Joerger would both be immediate upgrades to Doc. Again, WITH massive flaws and Dame not being in shape this team was 18 over .500 with AG. Doc is an unfathomably bad coach.

Some teams like NY and Cle are going to have KM in a wind sprint match... not sure it will be pretty

If KM came in this year crazy bombing 3s and covering 4s to some degree it completely changes us for the better... guessing it will be same old same old stumbly perimeter D (which is already trash enough) and old rickety handles... this should be our catch and shoot 3 guy. That jumper is pure
