One of the most notable differences in the Hawks’ early season offensive shot profile from last season has been the uptick in the percentage of their shots that they are taking — and making — at the rim.

Looking at the tables below (from cleaningtheglass.com), you can see that the Hawks have increased their rim-shooting frequency* and accuracy by 4.5% this season, ranking in the upper half of the league in both categories so far in 2024-25 after ranking in the bottom half in both categories last season.

Though three-pointers are all the rage nowadays, shots at the rim are still the most valuable shot in the game (on a points per shot basis*), and it’s encouraging to see the Hawks prioritize these types of looks on offense early on.

IMHO, it's unconscionable that we are not in the top-10 on offense.

When he's healthy, it's past time to put Bogdan in the starting 5 and see what this team can with all of their 5 best players starting together...

It really should get better. Trae always starts slow with shooting. He seems to be picking it up last few games. A lot of guys can shoot better % than they are.

Of course, getting Bog back will help. Hunter too

Running him off multiple screens to lose a longer, slower defender.

QS seems really attached to his scheme. I don't blame him but it doesn't appear that we have the offensive skill sets that work well in his system. Two big problems; 3pt shooting and rim %

How long will it take to get the skills that will produce in his system? Maybe compromise the system enough to exploit the skills we have better?
