Bud's Aug. '21 extension took him through this season. (aav unknown)
Griff had a 4 year deal, this would have been year 2, through '26-'27. (4m/year)
Rivers also got a 4 year deal through '26-'27 (10m/yr)

Bud's deal was signed pre-Monty, so I'm guessing it was in the 8-10m/yr range.

Yep, zero chance doc comes back next season. Question is if there will be anything worth saving with this roster.

Playing the young guys is a bit of a red herring. Doc is essentially doing the same thing as Griffin did last season (i.e. throwing Livingston out there for stretches in the infamous Utah game). He's just throwing **** at the wall to see what sticks in lieu of injuries/age and the veteran acquisitions being subpar. People can dream of AJ and Ajax saving the rotation, but those guys aren't legitimate 16-game players and probably never will be.

Team needs an absolute shakeup and it's just a matter of debate between how big of a shakeup we're talking about (everyone but Giannis, or everyone but Giannis/Dame/Khris). I'll still hold out hope that Trent and Prince can be those guys with everyone healthy, but the 4 through 7 playoff guys don't seem to be on this roster right now and that's a tough task to address just a month into the season.

Now, if he wants to start hitting middies again, someone just hit him with a stick.

Same. I don’t see any way he is fired. If anything they’ll make desperate attempts to change personnel and/or if gets really bad he will site burnout, move to front office, and hand it to Ham.

It doesn't really matter when Doc is fired, they shouldn't make a permanent replacement until the offseason. I doubt Ham or Prunty or whoever on the staff would significantly change the trajectory this season.

Giving Ham the reigns is fine because you're not gonna idiotically give him a multi-year extension like we did with Doc. There's no good options here, but the worst might be letting Doc completely run this into the ground while everyone is mentally checked out.

Ham is still popular here even though he hasn't played for the Bucks in over 20 years. And of course he was on Bud's staff on the championship team.

And you have to put a big * on his 2 year stint as Lakers coach. Navigating the LeBron circus is a challenge for any coach. But there were reports that he was in over his head, didn't know what he was doing , poor communicator, better suited to being an assistant. I hope he didn't come back here with the promise of being the next coach whenever that is, mid season, after this season, 3 years from now. I guess for the rest of the season ONLY, I could live with it.

I'd rather have Joerger or even Prunty on an interim basis if Doc is canned during the season (unlikely IMO)
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The Lakers and their fans don't care or remember that they got bounced 4-1 in the first round of the playoffs. All they care about is that they won the in-season tournament.

First of a B2B (Pistons at home Wednesday).

FiServ should be hopping for both games.

And, as pointed out in other threads, we're only 3 games out of the 3 seed.

Game talk only here please.

Go Bucks!

If you fired Doc and let Ham take over right now, the Bucks could still make the playoffs as a top #6 seed. IMO. I actually think Ham is a decent NBA head coach.

If you keep Doc for all 82, the Buck's ceiling is getting into the play-in tournament.

That's my opinion. I guess in the grande scheme of things it doesn't really matter.

By far the most impressive thing about Real GM is the memory of some of the posters. I don't even remember Carlos Delfino being a Buck and here's a guy who remembers his concussion. Very impressive; and I really mean that.

Carlos Delfino on the Bucks is memorable for 1) breaking closed captioning during a postgame interview and 2) having an absurdly hot wife.

You don't remember Del3no in MKE? He was shooting 35-footers before it was cool.

Carlos Delfino played for Argentina. A lot of coaches respected him around the league.
