He's a lot better than AK. He couldn't drive like that.

Undoubtedly. He's pretty much a given as the number one pick in the '25 draft unless someone just comes out of nowhere and overshadows him.

ESPN had a large article recently quoting a scout (anonymously) that he would have been the top pick this year. Which seems obvious; he's just on a totally different level of athleticism and IQ as Risacher and anybody else in this class.

Maybe he’s AK on defense but AK had a bricky touch and couldn’t score as well. They’re both white though so ok whatever lol. I see a bit of Keegan Murray/Tatum on offense but with elite athleticism. Probably not a number 1 scoring option though yeah.

I haven't seen either of the Rutgers kids yet but apparently they have a shot

Flagg would have to blow out every ligament in both knees not to go No. 1. People seem to have forgotten, he played against the Olympic team this summer and was arguably the best player on the court for one scrimmage.

Looked like he got gassed near the end and Duke being cold from three allowed for an even more congested lane around Flagg to force those turnovers.

Otherwise I was impressed with what I saw. He will fill a box score which at the very least is cornerstone material. His ceiling will be determined by how good of a shooter he is

Looked quicker off the dribble than I thought he was. His strength, balance, and general ability to absorb contact stood out the most to me. I think he has some real upside defending the post against bigger players. That's one aspect where I think he differs a little from Kirilenko. Draymond/Rodman-esque would be the dream there.

Flagg is a lock to go number one. Would fit with any team. Not a perfect prospect, but he just does so many things well and makes the game look easy. Plop him in any system and he'll thrive.

The tank is on.

Are people only comparing AK and Cooper because they are white? lol. These two play nothing alike. Coopers offensive potential is far more apparent than AK’s.

Neither of the Rutgers players have the all around skill that Flagg has. Bailey is a straight chucker.

Probably haha. But it's not a bad thing. Unfortunately it's hard to wrap your brain around a white prospect being as good as Flagg. We really haven't seen that before, so it's natural. Especially when people actually watch him and are surprised by how athletic he is. I live about 10 minutes from the Monteverde campus so I went and watched him a few times completely dominate high school kids. He didn't put up legendary numbers, but it was clear that he was just cut from a different cloth, even next to his teammates, several of whom are future NBA players.

He has a bit of AK47 in his game (defensively). And Jayson Tatum, and Shawn Marion. I struggle to come up with a real comp because he's such a unique prospect.

I’ve seen 50+ of his games from HS and college combined. He’s essentially Durant 2.0 with Gobert level defense.

Wembanyama is also a horrible shooter which you can’t say about Flagg.

- Post defense on 6'11", 235-pound center Andrew Carr [8:58 to 9:10]
- Absorbs a heavy lowered shoulder on a dribble-drive [8:13 to 8:20]

Yikes he turned it over again lol

Great game, but he struggled to close it tonight. He's not a natural scorer. More of a #2 scoring option from what I have seen so far.

I don’t know how he is only a 2nd option. Dude at at 17 has shown he has a lot scoring potential. Amazing creativity with the dribble, can drive, mid range game is excellent, looks like sure fired point forward, he needs to improve his 3 point shooting but that will be easy. Love the kids defense. Easy top pick.

lol, this may be true. He is one of those Lebron, Paolo types. One of those big forwards who with great passing skills.

He should be a senior in HS.

Got that Scottie Pippen all around game.

Pippen is the obvious comp to me. Similar size, can do a bit of everything offensively and defensively. Don't know why people look at this kid as AK.

Shot-blocking/rim & paint protection/vertical presence on defense I'd say. In that specific aspect of defense, Flagg is more akin to Marion, Kirilenko, Josh Smith, Battier, young T-Mac, Stephane Lasme, Bo Outlaw, etc. But then again it's hard to project how it's going to translate numbers-wise at the NBA level. Battier was blocking over 2 shots a game as a Junior and Senior at Duke; he peaked at like 1.5 in the NBA.

He's going to be a monster 5 years from now... when he'll be 22.

Now imagine his peak, 6 years later, at 28.

All-time great potential, if catastrophic injuries doesn't happen.

AK was defensive genius, and very well rounded offensive player, tho not a go to guy. That sounds a lot like Flagg, I think the comparison is valid. Flagg probably has superior big man like defnesive qualities, altho he does not necessarily have bigman body. I used to compare him to KG the most, but watching him now, he does play more and more like a wing, I was most familiar with him from that FIBA tournament, where he played at center, and looked like if you put All NBA defender to play 17 year olds.
