sure...lol

Mitchell: ORTG 115, DRTG 111
that is, the Cavs with Mitchell on the floor score 115 PTS per 100 possesions and get scored on 111 PTS

conversly:

Mobley: ORTG 118, DRTG 107
Garland: ORTG 126, DRTG 113
Allen: ORTG 132, DRTG 106

Mitchell is having a good season but come on now..

I get that the Cavs are undefeated but they're doing it by commitee. Tatum didn't win it last year despite being 1st in the standings by a mile and playing better than Mitchell has been playing this season. Booker (or CP3 who was the real driver) didn't win it in 2022 despite having the best record which was much better than the real MVP contenders records

in 2025, 23/4/4 does not an MVP make :noway:

besides, you can make ten different good arguments about Mitchell NOT being the best or most impactful player on this Cavs team so "best team best player" doesn't really apply :)

Curious what’s Jokic numbers? Just asking ;)

Jokic with a pedestrian 134 ORTG and 111 DRTG

for context, he had 131 to 108 last season and 134 to 110 the year before, this is just what he does on the reguler. truly nuts.

When they let go kcp they would be worse offensively that’s what everyone was saying. Jokic is having even a better offensive rating and that’s Murray and AG missing games.

He’s about the best offensive engine in league history though, a three level threat, no one is as good as him in the post, no center is better in the mid range and deep. And his passing is up there with the greats already. There’s no one better equipped to carry a franchise. Which sucks that he needs to, but I’ll accept it and will gladly see him dominate with absurd stat lines. Let’s see if he can average a triple double for the season, as a center…it would mind boggling to think it’s even remotely possible for any center, but I think Jokic just might. I always say, he’s normalized being an anomaly.

Luka and the Mavs need to get it together or I'm moving him into the "other" category haha.

Bucks tomorrow no Dame Middleton Portis Aj green or Rollins who look good in his first and only start. Now even the young guys are getting hurt. Giannis is carrying the biggest load of his career he definitely should be in these rankings!

ORTG 124, DRTG 111 - Bucks have been really good with him on the floor

Mate, you're using the wrong numbers. You're looking at bbref's ORTG/DRTG in the ‘Per 100 Poss’ section which is primarily a boxscore-based stat and has nothing to do with the team-based ORTG/DRTG. If you want to see the actual on-court and off-court ORTG/DRTG, you must click on the On/Off tab at the top of the page or alternatively you can check out stats.nba.com. Just FYI.

The Bucks with Giannis on the floor have a net rating of -1.7 and he has an on/off net rating of +2.1

For the Cavs, the net ratings are:

Mitchell +12.8 (-0.6 on/off)
Mobley +16.1 (+8.6 on/off)
Garland +11.9 (-2.6 on/off)
Allen +10.5 (-6.5 on/off)

Yeah when you’re 4-8 it definitely is. Joker had no Jamal Murray and MPJ for an entire year and played with scrubs, and still finished 48-34 to win MVP.

New NBA.com MVP ladder. It looks a little better than the goofy list they put out after the first week, although they seem to value winning in some cases more than others.

1. Nikola Jokić, Denver Nuggets
2. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics
3. Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns
4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder
5. Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

The next five:
6. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors
7. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
8. Luka Dončić, Dallas Mavericks
9. Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers
10. LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers having two in the top 10 is ludicrous.

So the Nuggets lost to the Pelicans who are missing 6 of their top 8 players. This is pathetic. If this doesn’t show Jokic’s carry job I don’t know what does.

Remember when people thought Murray was better than Jokic?
Luka won the trade & Nico got fired

SGA is well placed to win. The Thunder will keep rolling with Chet out, then voters will say 'Shai got the Thunder to a much better record than the Nuggets with no Chet, and Jokic has won enough lately. Let's have someone new, Shai deserves it'.

Shai doesn’t deserve it. Jokic has a way bigger carry job. Look at tonight the Nuggets lose to the Pelicans who were missing their top 6 of 8 players. If Jokic keeps it up no one will come close.

That's voter fatigue. It cuts both ways, given that there are guys who arguably could have won some of Jokic's MVPs if they didn't have that working against them. I will agree that based purely on perf9rmance, Jokic should be #1 so far.

Pelicans are starting 2 G-league players and every bench player is G-league player and Nuggets still cant win without Jokic?
MostValuablePlayer, there is no single player in the NBA more valuable to his team then Nikola Jokic, and its not even close....

Difference between Nuggets and Jokicless Nuggets is like 40 wins...
