We all probably won’t be here. For the right player I say go for it. We need to find a Derrick White type somehow

Ill take 3/4 of a Derrick White for that pick

We have no pick or have a pick swap for the next 6 years. No way I trade '31 unless it's top 5 protected.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

1) We're all focused on Giannis/Dame pair and if it can work or not. Now that i think about it,it's a false question/dilemma. You can't isolate it without taking into consideration the rest of the players. This could be a good fit if your third star was a great defender, like McDaniels or prime Smart or a defensive wing. Giannis/Dame is not a good fit and it is neither a bad fit. Put good defenders around them, even 3/D like prime Connaughton, and this could work. Right now, one should be delusional to think it can.

2) So, would it be enough to pair the '31 first and Khris in order to trade for a player like McDaniels? I think that Khris has zero trade value right now. I would trade him for any good defender, if i wanted to keep Dame. All i am saying is that it's not Giannis/Dame the problem. It's Dame/Khris. Those are the ones that don't fit. To be more precise, even them could fit but in that case, Bucks should have at least 4 GREAT defenders around them. And great defenders don't grow on trees, with the limitations of NBA Salary cap. A good defender is not very expensive but he's not cheap either. Josh Hart signed for 4/80. You can't have 5 Harts, hell, you can't have even 2 of them, when you pay 3 big contracts.

3) As i said, i would trade Khris for any good defender, but there are two problems. 1) I should give the '31 first. And i don't think Bucks should give this pick. 2) I wouldn't trade for a good defender who's also an injury prone, like Jonathan Isaak. If Bucks go down due to some injure, i prefer to go down due to Khris or Giannis. Because they're the ones who brought the Championship. These legends deserve such a risk. Not any other. Furthermore, if by any chance we get some defensive players, there is a chance for Bucks to make it to the playoffs. And if we play with a healthy Khris, we'll be good.

4) I said all those things to make a point. The point is this : Dame is still a great player. But it doesn't work. If we trade him, still we won't be champions (99%). But we're not title contenders anymore. The goal is not the championship anymore, but to not fall apart and to be able to enjoy basketball even with false Championship hopes.

So, i would trade Dame.

For Norman Powell/Derrick Jones Jr/Kris Dunn and Pj Tucker.
He's washed but his contract is expiring. We'll save 11,5 million dollars, for the next year and i will take him in order for the trade to not fail.

Dunn/Wright
Powell/Green/Trent
Khris/Derrick Jones Jr/Prince/AJ
Giannis/Bobby/Tucker
Lopez

Every Clippers' player here fits well with Giannis, they can score/defend and don't need the ball on their hands.Dunn will be our back up PG, in any case, Giannis is our play maker. Some Bucks players would be cut. I think there should have been another trade after this, with Bobby or Brook. But it's a good start. Derrick Jones is a very good defender. Still, we can't beat Boston. Yet, ,maybe we'll be able to enjoy basketball again.

The Clippers are an interesting trade partner for Dame. Balmer might actually pay fair value for the PPGZ in LA.

My only issue is the centerpiece is Norm Powell and he's 31 years old. (BTW, for those gasping at the name "Norm Powell" the guy is averaging 23ppg this year on excellent efficiency. It may end next month, but he's intriguing)

I feel like if you're going to trade Dame, you need young stud player coming back, who can emerge here and/or be here awhile.None of those guys above fit.

Maybe you're right, i don't know, but my counter arguments are these : 1) Players on the same timeline with Giannis are preferable than younger ones if we want to compete, 2) These Clippers players are not young but they are not old either, plus, they are athletic, in good physical shape and up until now, they don't get injured.

I have to agree with ShootingTheJ on this front. There’s no sense in trading it if you’re taking the value away from it. It’s going to be worth infinitely more with no protection on it. Either let it fly and go after a Dyson Daniels or a Jalen Suggs type or hold on tight for dear life. I don’t see any other option.

It's hard to be for or against trading a #1 unless you know what you're getting. Would I do it for Jalen Suggs? Yes. Would I do it for the crap people bring up in trades (I still can't believe there are posters who want to trade for Paul Reed and give up value for him)? No.

In terms of likelihood, I don't see any way the Bucks trade Lopez. For better or worse, I think Horst and the coaching staff love him.
Portis would have gotten a lot, in my view, last season. As a rental, a lot less.

I'm still pushing for GP III and Looney. They would solve a lot of problems.

Those guys solve some problems but create giant new problems. No more specialists. Get complete players.

Most of the posters seem to want to trade Brook or BP, because they are too one dimensional and yet posters think one or both of them will get a complete player in return?

Add in that both are on the last year of their contract and there is a disconnect.

…what if it’s the 2031 pick + Middleton or Dame?

Big difference if a team likes Bobby enough to extend him vs see how it goes as a filler big.

Golden State theoretically could love him based on Kerr’s Team USA comments and need for a big man who can shoot.

Idk how much GP III and Looney move the needle for us but interested to hear your take.

How far off is this?

Bucks trade: 2031 first, Bobby, AJ Green.
Bucks receive: Kuminga

Warriors trade: Kuminga, Looney
Warriors receive: Bobby

Pelicans trade: salary space via TPE
Pelicans receive: Looney

Major assumption: Bucks 2031 first is as valuable as Jake Fischer indicated and the Warriors plan to trade it as part of some other deal.

Kerr would have to love AJ Green in addition to Bobby too for it to be close.

Kuminga wants 35m per season, are we even able to keep him long term?

Destinations that might want Dame and Dame might agree to go to.

Miami
LAL
LAC
PHX
NYK
Brooklyn
Houston
Atl
GSW

Which of those teams has a young player that could be on the verge of breaking out as an excellent two-way?

We owe Dame absolutly nothing, Portland did. Send him to the best offer.

You think Kuminga compliments Giannis at center (Brook off the bench)?

It's a good list. Also, we're likely to get numerous picks in the deal, so players like Cam Johnson could be had for picks.

The biggest obstacle is the replacement PG. Most shot down Schroder.

Jordan Poole is having the best year of his career. Thoughts on him? He seems to have returned to his early career work ethic, back when he was hyper focused on hooping.

Would a package of Green, 31 1st and Bobby be enough to get a good younger core piece? Taking advantage of Greens value at its absolute peak.
