Same thing happened last season when Goga and AB took over for the win streak.

Coincidence? Probably not.
Even the year before that, they went on a win streak and beat Boston twice. That was with Moe as the starter and Mo as the backup.

Bottom line is that they dont need Carter to win basketball games and he was re-signed and now un-tradeable.

2 years ago, we won 8 of 9, including b2b against Boston when Eddie House was talking crap.

Both Mo and Goga are going to have to be paid significantly more money to remain on the Magic

Seeing some real smarts from Goga in the PnR / 2 man game. He's great at making himself available for the pass and then making good decisions once he has it. A lot of second effort baskets too, where he just won't give up on a live ball.

Goga is really good…Mo and/or WCJ can be good backups, but they don’t really have any leverage here (other than WCJ just got a foolish “catch up” extension as the team enters a phase of tight money). This team cant be held hostage by pretty good players anymore. Nothing personal, but that era is ending now. If someone wants to pay Moe a bunch…he should take it, with ORL’s best wishes. We’ll probably end up spending some draft equity to be rid of WCJ this summer, considering how he’s playing when he does play. Again, nothing personal, but this ship no longer has room for dead weight or even good players paid above their contribution. These are big-boy concerns that good teams have to/get to deal with. Underdogs & feel-good stories throw around the “family” stuff…contenders are held accountable from FO to Coach to 12th man.

It's pretty wild that even earlier this season people were questing whether he isn't too much of a downgrade offensively from Wendell to be a legit rotation player and now he looks like he is a much better offensive player than Wendell. His contract looks like a real steal now.

I also think that the loss of Moe's offense makes WCJ a better fit with the second...he's generally struggled offensively this year, but he's historically capable of spreading the floor and finishing PnR...he should be the leading scorer and rebounder for the second unit - until we add the guard we lack.

I think I was probably one of them. I doubted Gogas ability to reach Carter's offensive utility. But he's just grown and grown. He just makes those around him better. While Carter is very talented and underappreciated on here, he's more of a guy who cleans up defensive and offensive sets, rather than ties them together. Goga has that ability to be a connective piece on both sides.

It’s undeniable at this point.

I’m rolling with Goga as starter and give him this season and next to lock it down long term.

Let’s see if he hits a wall, regresses, and can hold up.

I’m not looking for starting centers anytime soon unless the fit when Paolo and Franz are back doesn’t work. Goga doesn’t need to be planted by the basket on the offensive side so I feel the fit isn’t a problem.

I, along with others here thought WCJs ability to shoot from 3 is what would open up the game for Paolo and Franz. Well.... Goga doesn't really shoot from 3 but it looks like the game will open up anyway

Moes injury is also a nice way to quietly transition WCJ to the bench role. Looks like its because we need bench firepower and therefore he saves face a bit, but in reality we know hes not coming back.

Goga is up to 15th in the NBA in TS%. Unsurprisingly almost all leaders in this stat are bigs, but it's still an indication of how smart he is in the paint.

Getting abused by Duren is a pretty clear sign that we all shouldn't be getting carried away with his game too much. He's far from perfect. What surprised me about last nights performance wasn't so much him being bullied by the freak that is Duren, as the number of times he seemed to absolutely lose his guy or get totally mixed up with WCJ as to who was guarding whom.

The GogaBit Processer needs a diagnostic program run on it.

Goga is playing with a bad ankle. Duren used his athletic superiority to expose that. Goga still should’ve been in there in the fourth instead of Wendell.
