Tari is just a example how dumb many scouting departments and managers in the the NBA are. Like Jalen Williams (or Mitchell, Sengun... ) every realgm board wanted those guys. All the advanced stats said star or elite roleplayer potential but they still draft guys like Johnny Davis before them. Even in scouting reports and videos at the time they had a hard time selling Davis and showing any strengths.

I really thought he would come ORL. It was really obvious he could take the JI treatment of back to backs off, and 28 MPG maximum games for every single season here. Like, the ORL big three gonna get a top 4 seed most seasons, regardless. They're all young. And then PG13 could have waived his pseudo-restrictions any time he wanted, like in the Playoffs. And the starving for a 3 point sniper would have given him an easy 20-30+. Oh well, our cap sheet roster construction is way better this way now.
Maybe PHI has a total implosion in 0.5-1.5 seasons and would sell him for like two 1st's, not caring about the incoming salary as long as it was 1-2 year expiring. Not sure it would even make sense for us then, but options are good.

Tari seems to get injured a lot like Isaac. I'm not sure he'll ever be a 30 mpg playerpepe1991 wrote:If i'm Houston fan i would be pretty damn pissed about notion of starting Jabari over Tari.
Tari is what Jabari was sold to be. Can make open shots, is pest on defense, is efficient, gets crazy amount of deflactions, steals, blocks... Jabari on other hand is... Toby Harris without talent for scoring?

To me Jeremy Sochan is still one of most WTF picks from that draft.
6'8 PF/C with shooting touch of Biyombo, negative assist to tournover rate, poor scoring insticts, fouling prone, zero rim protection, gambling on passing lines, him running with ball is mockery. He can hardly handle a ball in empty gym.
I still don't see how he can help any team on serious, more competitive level win games ( or God forbid expecting him to play half court offense or defense in playoffs).
Since they "lost " him they jumped to 8th best offense and top 10 in net rating. Blessing

Just see he had 24 usage this year. Almost the usage Franz got when Paolo is healthy.

I really don't think scouting is that hard of a job and yet pro teams seem to make a huge meal of it. If overthinking doesn't kill them, group think will.
The RealGM board might not outdraft the pack if it was GM of a team - just because of the difficulty of getting consensus between everyone. But ask them to pick 10 hits and 10 flops out of every draft and I bet it outperforms the league professionals.

Yrah... look at those legs...
Also... pardon my ignorance but why does he need crutches?

I don’t think Orlando actually offered him the full four-year max.
If they did, I really do think he would have signed here over Philly.

Wizards are pacing themself into, once again, one of worst teams ever. 2-15 with 11 loses in a row.

Re: Around the League: 2024-25 Season
Interesting thing i've read on the Thunder board which confirms my eye test when i watched the Thunder. Jalen Williams without Shai got sub 50%TS last 2 season on over 30% usage. A bunch of people rated him higher than both Paolo & Franz last 2 seasons but he is really more the PERFECT 2nd option but not really a guy who can score constantly vs. double teams as a 1st option. Good for them, they doesnt need him to be the No.1 option.
BTW OKC, former Thunder Ty Jerome is on a tear for Cleveland. As if they didn't already had enough guard quality.
6.4 BPM, leads the leaque with 72%TS%
The shootings splits: 3-10 ft : .655% 10-16 ft: .600% 16-3P: .750 3P%: .551
Per36: 23pppg & 7 apg
Not nearly sustainable but wow and great addition to a team that already got a 4 (fringe ) All-stars.

Re: Around the League: 2024-25 Season
Randle destroying yet another team. Anybody surprised? I predicted them missing direct playoff.
Him and Gobert positioning is brutal on offense. Lost 3 games to Portland and Toronto.
In last 7 games only wins they have are vs Suns without Durant, Beal and Kings in OT without Derozan.

I hope they're forced to max him anyway. Three players making the max might be the only way to slow them down! (Not going to wish injuries on anyone.)
I was thinking the other day that Franz still hasn't unlocked that extra gear in his TS%. It's funny watching box scores and he'll always end up around 50% FG% no matter what's happening.

This isn't true.
Jalen Williams without SGA:
20,9 PPG
5,9 APG
4,6 RPp
60,7% TS
Sample size:14 games.
raw plus minus: +38
Data is either complete BS or extracted from part of games where OKC plays without SGA in games he actually plays. SGA plays 35 mpg, so it would probably be just garbage time.

OKC is probably the team in the next years where you got the chance to find hidden rotation players because of their extreme influx of new young players but not being able to play them/pay them, because they already have their stars & established roles. Guys like Ty Jerome or Tre Mann.

Here is the quote. I don't know where you find teammate-specific on/off these days.
jalen williams has been elite with shai on the court with him this year, and awful in his minutes without shai. this is a trend that began last year after micic was traded. the units with jdub and without shai are 9.5pp100 worse than they were last year offensively. and jdub himself is at sub-50ts on 32usg in those minutes.
What's even more remarkable is anyone checking the OKC board since it's dead!
