Obviously I don't know LaMelo personally or anything like that, but my sense is that his reaction after the game isn't likely to be "I'm pissed we lost and want to figure out what I could have done different that would have given us a better chance to win."

I feel like his reaction, at least privately, would skew more towards "I played great at least."

I couldn't watch a game but injury report was enough to know winner.
Pretty much every single Hornets PF and C is hurt. Their starting C should be home playing with his grandkids.

As for Lamelo, he is bit immature, but almost all people who grew up with camera stuck in their face are.
Guy was on WWE when he was 15. What majority of us did at age of 15? Beat meat and daydreamed about hoes. Let's be real.

He is still very young (23) and you hope that over some period of time he becomes more of Lonzo and less of Lavar.
Right now i don't see how his behavior is any different than young Kyrie for example. Talked smack, got into some awkward stuff, said some bit over a top things. :dontknow:
For crying out loud, Ja Morant was gun swinging at kids last year and people already forgot about it

Hornets are off to a bad start, but given they lost both Cs and both PFs it's not unexpected, and 5 of their losses were within 2 possession.

I hope this doesn't mean we're going to see a lot of Cole.

As bad as a game that was, I thought it was a very impressive win.

This can’t be the real KCP right? Another O-fer from deep… it’s getting really old at this point. We’re nearly a quarter into the season and he’s shooting 22% from deep on 4 attempts per game.

Yet they took the paint away from us completely still. Magic couldn’t hit a 3 to make them change that. It was just brutal. Franz getting smothered by 3 defenders and having to decide between trying to really force a shot, or pass out again to the guys who are 0-30 from deep.

But they slugged it out cos the team is #1 in the league in heart.

I would have told Franz to just bombs away from the 3pt line.

Better that than AB, TDS and JI taking 21 3s. How does JI have the ultimate green light to shoot? Jesus christ.

We were lucky that a few went in. I never thought JI would go Stephen Curry YOLO on us.

Well its better than him trying to take it in and getting injured i guess...

Charlotte is a really fun team. When they have their bigs back, they are probably a playoff contender/play in team. Happy for them, that they finally hit some draft picks in the last years.

About LaMelo. He is probably more a ceiling raiser than a floor raiser. Like Franz is our floor raiser, that garantees you around 40 wins at least and Paolo is the ceiling raiser that gets you out of the 1st / 2nd round. Or like Paul & Booker in Phoenix. Paul garantees you the playoffs, Booker not but Booker is the player to get you over the hump in the playoffs.
LaMelo just isnt nowhere near a 2way player, thats the reason Franz got same or more impact in games like this despite scoring half the points. + for a PG he doesnt make players around him a lot better like a PG like Paul.

Charlotte needs a 3rd star that probably scores less than Melo but impact the game more than him with 2way impact. A Floor raiser. I dont see Miller becoming that. Playoffs are won by Superstars & 2way players. Charlotte needs a 2way star as a addition to their 2 offensive stars.

I was CONFIDENT Orlando would win this game by dominating the boards OR by having huge scoring nights by the bigs. Both failed, yet the Magic still won. How?

Box score thoughts:
Orlando LOST the FG% battle yet, via a very odd path, won the game.

negatives:
Orlando had a low FT night and a horrible FT% night. Eight points lost on missed FTs.
Orlando was abysmal in 3pt%.

And the real shocker: Orlando was dominated on the glass and lost the redounding fifferntial by an unfathomable 13 boards.
Yuck

So how did the team win???

positives:
1) Orlando shot 19 more FGs. How was that possible given the rebounding fiasco?
2) Orlando DOMINATED TO-differential. 8 to 26. A whopping 18 more TOs-forced is the number of extra FGs.

3) And the Magic was as good defensively as the Hornets was, for the longball.

...

This is only the 7th game this season an NBA has won without scoring 100 points.

His energy is improving, seems he's keeping that motor running. He's also rebounding? The handle looks nice as well.

I m rewatching the game and only looking at Jett, his D is so much better
