When league (and teams) will take notice that guaranteed max contracts against salary books on injury prone players are devastating for both teams and competitive edge of a league?

Pelicans?
Pelicans!

At one point Zion and Ingram showed up to play together in 12 out of 120 games.
Over almost 3 years, McCullum, Zion and Ingram suited up to play at a same time below 50 times.

They now lost 14 out of past 16 games. They are 1-8 since Zion went down. He is probably done for this calendar year, once he return they will probably be 20 games below .500 and out of anything to do this year other than suck for Flagg.

Zion’s deal has a lot of non-guaranteed money…they could actually waive him this summer if they want. The West is so tough, they’d have to play the rest of the season at a championship pace to even make the play-in…they may just consider blowing it up …they’ve got good players on the roster…just all injured. I proposed POR offering Ayton straight up for Zion as a big swing with really not a huge amount of risk. POR has a few more seasons to burn anyway and Ayton’s just in the way. I think it’s understood they’d give Ayton away if they could, so…

Zion just had PRP for his hamstring, which is pretty unconventional and, even in normal applications, far from a guaranteed fix. PRP isn’t a quick fix at all, it just promotes natural healing and, hopefully, accelerates the natural process. It takes time to work- if it does work, so NOLA has to presume they’d be lucky to get any significant run out of Zion, even in the best case. Their season is done, unless the rest of them really work some magic.

There should be intervention to kick Wizards from nba and send some G league team in.

12 losses in a row, okey not even worst by them in 2024, but fashion of losing is just pathetic for nba team.

- 19 vs Bulls (at home)
- 12 vs Pacers
- 8 vs Boston
- 28 vs Knicks
- 20 vs Dallas
- 12 vs Atlanta
- 9 vs Spurs
- 15 vs Houston
- 27 vs Magic
- 22 vs Memphis
- 13 vs Warriors
- 20 vs Heat

they aren't even capable of having competitive 3 quarters of a game.

Pretty good draft to tank in. Cooper, Ace, Harper, Demin, Traore, etc.

Their team is a bunch of super young players. Bilal is a future 2 way all star at this rate, if one of their young guys (2025 1st Rounder, Sarr, George, Carrington, etc) pans out as a star as well, they got 2 young stars.

Reality is the Wizards were the perfect example of a team refusing to commit to a tank and paying for it draft pick wise and maximalizing current players trade values

They shouldve traded Beal a couple years before he finally did get traded. Should have traded Kuzma last year at his peak value.

The Knicks board is hilarious. The whole around the NBA thread is just trashing their ex players. I've hated Vuc & Evan as players more than almost any players we had here since I'm a fan but I stopped posting about them a day after trade. I mean Vuc is probably one of the nicest persons in the league, no need to **** on him after trade.

Washington needs desperately high end talent. Bilal is kinda hyped but he looks like the worst starting player in the league for me, despite some flashes when he drives to the hoop.
How a team in their situation drafts super low upside players like Kispert, Davis and Co is really beyond me. The only solid but still limited upside guy in Deni they gave away. Sarr looks meh too.

Sarr ... man... 7 footer with 36% FG who thinks he is pop option, but can't shoot

He is mix between homeless Mobley with decision making of Mo Bamba .

Maybe he will figure things out, but watching him play today is flat out ugly.

Kyshan George :sour:

Bilal at least won't take bad shots. Unlike rest of a team (Bagley, Poole, Kuzma, Sarr... :banghead: )

I would rather watch snail race than Wizards basketball game.

Yea Bilal is definitely the highest upside guy & would be my only keeper. Poole, Kuzma & Bagley is just the worst trio imaginable to watch.
I hope their fans are rewarded next draft for having to watch this for so long (+ most of their other teams in the last 40 years have hardly been more interesting) Being a Wizards fan has to be the worst. Never very good, never any real stars, 30 years of no direction

That didn't stop the Magic from giving him playing time over lottery picks last year

The Nets don't really have a particularly tanky roster right now.

You look at their starting lineup tonight and four of their five starters are veterans aged 28-31 with another 28 off the bench too.

It's a lot more a veteran laden team than people realize.

Charlotte won't win a Lotta games with LaMelo spamming 20! Threes. What the ****. Him and Miller are taking around 30 a game recently.

Diabate with 1 FGA in 33min. Love his hustle and energy and athletic tools but like a lot of those French kids, he is sooo raw. But Salaün with a sign of life

Yea, they are the Clippers light. Clippers always have ton of vets and almost no young players. Because of that and Lue they always win at least around 50%, no matter if George, Kawhi and Co were injured.
Surprised by Schröder. 1st time for a looong time that he isnt a negative player on the court. Still don't trust him enough that I want him here despite my wish for a real PG vet.

Theres a vid of where Chet was spotted in an OKC practice and holy smokes!!!! He is in crutches but whats more crazy is his legs. Someone else watch that vid and tell me your reaction.

Seeing Chet with those bamboo legs is a bit scary.
Still remembered the thread with Paolo vs Chet.
Forget the talents for a second. How long is Chet able to stay in the league being skinnylike that ??
That body is not made for the rigorous of the NBA.
