Your team needs to be built of two halves:
4 players who have a relative that ever played in the NBA/ABA (can be checked relatively quickly via bbref)
4 players who weren't drafted in any of our last x drafts (maybe a hundred? twenty?)
Second list might take some time to compose, but if people want the idea, I'll take it upon myself to compose the list. Might not be ready for the immediate next draft
I've never been able to drum up much interest, but I'm pretty sure the relatives restriction can work as a full draft.
This is a sampling of what I found the last time I researched it (post-merger):
PG - Steph, Payton, Stockton, Dame, Jrue, SGA, Kyrie, Price, Haliburton, Tim Hardaway, Brunson, Garland, Dragic, Gus Williams, Bibby, LaMelo, GPII, Delon Wright, Tyus Jones
SG - Kobe, T-Mac, Klay, Booker, Eddie Jones, Gervin, Alvin Robertson, Dennis Johnson, Matthews, Steve Smith, Brent Barry, Terry, J.R. Smith, Ron Harper, Seth Curry
SF - LeBron, Pippen, Dr. J, Vince, Wiggins, Middleton, Wilkins, Rice, Deng, McDaniels, Jalen Rose, Pressey, King, Jalen Rose, MPJ, Szczerbiak, Dunleavy
PF - KG, Giannis, JJJ, Love, Griffin, Millsap, Nance, Mobley, Horace Grant, Jerami Grant, Crowder
C - Shaq, Walton, Ewing, Mutombo, P. Gasol, M. Gasol, Horford, Lopez, Sikma, A. Sabonis, D. Sabonis, Frye
This includes a couple of relatives that never actually played a game in the NBA, but if anything that just makes the research easier.
Go further back and you can include guys like Rick Barry and his sons, Willis Reed, Bob McAdoo, etc.
