isn't the head coach supposed to handle roster management? what's bill actually going to be doing?

Schools have staff that handle recruiting.

so what does a college general manager do?

Just another title for head of recruiting? Good question. NIL makes things tricky nowadays. There are these groups known as "NIL Collectives" that raise funds for the athletes. So that's why college recruiting is basically like free agency. Schools who can offer the most money can typically buy the best players.

yeah, iowa's collective is called swarm. its run by someone not affiliated with the university though (not sure if they are required to be separate or not)

but yeah, college football is becoming a very weird place, in a transition period

I definitely have lost respect for him after finding that out.

I bet that their conversations are hilarious. If he even bothers to converse with her.

That's not the definition of pedo.

And you were hoping God would deliver that pedo to Cowboys even after you found out about the girlfriend, Cowboys fans' coping mechanisms crack me up.

I didn't say it was the definition, I said it suggests he is one.

God prevented a pedo from being signed to his favorite team, and made UNC happen instead.

So you suggest people are something they are not? That's new level of mental gymnastics

Soon they'll have to manage a salary cap

What do you do now if you're Jerry? Let's say that Ben Johnson is out of the picture as well. Who do you want?

Well Ben Johnson is the guy that I would want but we all know that isn’t happening. After the season they have had Jerry is going to want to fix the offense. Assuming these guys also get fired and should be available the likely candidates are/will be Doug Pederson, Zac Taylor, Sean McVay, Kellen Moore, and Kliff Kingsbury. Those are the guys that could fix the offense and will be names that will be thrown around. Mike Vrabel’s name was brought up today too.

That was one of the main reasons I did not want Belichick to coach the Cowboys.

You might as well roll with McCarthy in this scenario.

Vrabel would probably be the best name out of that group. But I would attempt to look elsewhere.

Yea they are just retreads. All are good offensive guys but flawed as coaches. Jerry loves those guys.

I wouldn’t mind Vrabel but Jerry won’t go with him. He doesn’t seem the type that would take Jerry’s ****. Same reason Deion won’t be the coach.

Now that Bill will be heading to North Carolina, perhaps we should start discussing Jerry's options moving forward now.

You watch, he will be back. Sanders ain't coming either. No decent coach in their right minds will want to put up with Jerry's culture and bulls..t. :wizard:

Ben Johnson is the hot coordinator name available. But he's going to have his pick of any team.

I would look at a guy like Jesse Minter (Chargers DC). He comes from the Ravens/Michigan- Harbaugh coaching tree.

Mike Vrabel would clash with Jerry in my opinion. I would go with a younger up & coming coordinator over a retread.
