It could well be that AK is floating the FRP idea to some blogger who loves to think he's getting a scoop, just to see if the phone rings before he finalizes the deal he's looking at
First, a two team deal looks all the more difficult to match both sides with players, picks and salaries. When you don't limit it to a two team trade, it's more difficult for us here to imagine who that third team is but it opens up many more possibilities. Vuc would be going to a playoff team so the pick projects to be in the 20's so maybe his destination has a roster that's close to signed for next season so they don't want to keep a FRP to take a guaranteed contract when they could draft a 2nd round project. Second. Don't rule out HOU and OKC being involved since they have multiple picks for the next few years, maybe they get somebody they like for being a facilitator with a pick.
Third. I remain interested in what path PORT finally decides to take; keep and play their veterans in hopes of winning and trade some of the youth they have assembled or the opposite, move the veterans to contenders for kids and pick and play the youth and see who develops by the end of the year. Not that popular but I still would like to get Ayton and would be fine with sending PORT back their pick a part of a deal. Fourth. I would monitor what the Spurs might do, if there's any way to get the 2025 pick back or even send them someone to change the protection to a lower number.
I would be interested in scooping up Paul Reed, he and Smith would cover the 5 spot and increase the take back options for Vuc.
