I find myself wondering why THT is getting minutes over Matas. All I keep thinking is that Billy finds one guy to fall in love with and give him minutes that are better spent elsewhere. It has been Green for the past couple, this year it's THT. I don't hate THT, but his "drive or die" mentality is tedious.

If the Miami Heat wants Vucevic, I'd gladly send him there in a package involving Rozier. The last year of his deal is a team option.

Yeah, you're right, it's not a team option.

Exactly as you said.

We could have lost Zach or Debo for the same amount of time, and been a better team with Ball playing 34 minutes. Be like the Warriors losing Draymond Green for 3 years, but worse because no Zach ain't Steph. Can't minimize Ball's value to the team, we lost the most or at least second most important player for years. Most contenders are play in teams if that happens. I know AK was supposed to magically replace him for cheap while still paying his contract, but realistically we've been treading water till this $20 mill hole gets filled. All the shuffling around in the world wasn't going to fix that. We had no picks or cap at that point. He took a shot and missed, it takes years to recover from that. Pretty much every single one of our players trade value was lower last year than it is this year, except maybe Pat. Zach was injured, Vuc was shooting poorly, Pat was iffy, not much room to trade without losing.

They have a chance to change opinion's right now, but this offseason will be when things really shake up. Coincidentally, Ball's $20 mill is gone.

Ball is a role-player, an elite one but a role-player nonetheless. The Bulls were never a contender, that was clear.

It's absolutely ridiculous to say we would've been better without Zach or DeRozan playing instead of Ball. Who is scoring for the Bulls? We'd average about 30 points a game.

Wait. Derozan is gone this season and Ball is back. Are the Bulls averaging 30 points a game?

Read on Twitter

If we can get that 1st round pick with low protections, it could still end up being a lottery pick. They're old and could break down at any time. If that pick is on the table it's a no brainer and also probably allows us to get our pick from the Spurs this year too.

Yeah, I think Vuc to GS for any expirings + 1st with low protections is a no brainer for us.

1 - I absolutely enjoyed watching this roster beat the Celtics

2 - This roster is not beating them nor about 12 other teams over a playoff series, with maybe eight more teams being coin tosses. That's not the future I want.

So yeah as nice as it is night-to-night for me to root for victories; man would this be good news. Maybe it kicks LaVine's extended tryout into high gear, and he tries for 45ppg until someone bites. I very much hope that in 2027 we only have maybe 2 or 3 guys left from this roster.

Who said 1st?

Haven’t seen any writer report that.

One exec said two 2nds is what is being offered right now.

I have recommended a pick swap of our 2nd for their 1st. That’s more plausible. Throw in Craig if need be.

No one, that part came from me. I think he has played himself into first round pick territory.

You normally don’t get a 1st for a 34yr old C.

Actually don’t know if that has ever happened. Not that I remember.

True, but how many 34-year-old centers have averaged 21, 10, 3, and 48% from downtown?

Warriors would be a good fit - Looney/GP2 (expiring)
Heat- Robinson (expiring)
Lakers - Russell/Hayes (expiring)

all good fits, get expiring money, make the team worse this year.
I think 1-2 2nds should close the deal

I don't think AK pulls the trigger on a Vuc deal for 2nd's. Personally, second round picks are worthless optics. They can always seemingly be bought.

Which means it’s a done deal. 2nds can be sold for… you guessed it… CASH CONSIDERATIONS

From wiretap:

The Phoenix Suns are exploring trades for Jusuf Nurkic, sources told Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.

The Suns are looking for a big in return, with Jonas Valanciunas and Nikola Vucevic as rumored targets.

They would have to provide some solid sweeteners.

I think PHO is over the 2nd apron which makes the deal tough because Nurk makes less than Vuc.

Yeah... I guess he makes 2 million less. Still, his 18.x mil a year makes Vuc's 20 million seem like a steal. If they can find someone to take Nurkic and his 18 million we sure as hell should be able to get something of value back for Vuc.

This is true, it also means they can't aggregate salaries in a trade.
