Serious question is Minnesota an option?
Never mind, the Timberwolves are a 2nd apron team. Ooof

It’d be complicated and likely requires a 3rd team, but they have picks to trade and are missing a piece like Jimmy to put them over the top
now?
Nothing has changed as far as I can tell

Any Brad beal or MPJ talk is click bait and not happening. Those contracts are negative assets. Ain't nobody giving beal or mpj a max if they hit FA this next offseason.
It's gotta be a dude like Ingram who can contribute now and expiring so we can resign him or sign someone else and also snag more assets in trade for future moves or roster building.
Getting tobias harris and some pieces would be hilarious after all the Philly stuff "TOBIAS HARRIS OVER ME?" Lmao.
Rockets Grizz Warriors Pelicans make most sense. Possible 3 team trade. Doubt jimmy goes to an east team, not to mention the west teams make far more sense.

The Nets?! They have picks salary and cap space and apparently wanted a star for their team. Trade for Jimmy and go star hunting in the summer?

Hopefully more young players get minutes since Butler is out of the equationMettaWorldPanda wrote:I don’t want anyone coming in interrupting Keshad Johnson’s long term development. Maybe just a short term vet. Yes i’ve been high on Keshad since day one. Don’t need anyone like Brandon Clarke in here on that contract to muddy the depth chart. Keshad and Jovic is about as ideal a PF combo as it gets in final form.

Hmmm... if this were true then why trade DFS and have Cam Johnson available? Fwiw I'd gladly take cam johnson at his age size contract for jimmy and not expect much else and be happy.
You have Herro Bam Cam plus cap space and then put an expiring Duncan or rozier in a deal for a disgruntled type dude, plus young dudes developing and you've got yourself a real team far ahead of what this team is now and a youth movement to boot.
Edit : p.s. don't see it happening tho

Kerr and Spo probably talk. Word is Golden State wants Vucevic
Jimmy’s not doing himself any favors. He may be responsible for his own downfall. IMO unless he gets somewhere like Phoenix who doesn’t give a damn to open their pockets he’s going to have to either 1, opt into his contract and then when it’s up he’s looking at exception money or 2, sign somewhere for like 3/$90M for his last contract
Actually this would be Spo not doing the Heat any favors. If no one is interested, then we get nothing for Jimmy. If Jimmy can't get more elsewhere, then his best move is to stay put and opt in.

Constant reminder that the Heat still won’t accept the reality of the new nba. Outrageous money greatly outweighs the pull of the south beach lifestyle as painful as it is to accept as a long time Heat fan. The bringing in a whale for nothing days are long gone

Re: 2024-25 Regular Season Thread Vol. 3
Sorry I didnt post this earlier but you could see last game when Jimmy was on the court he made no effort to get open. He even positioned himself behind defenders to make passing lanes more difficult. Its been going on for some time. He has not been trying to make the offense work at all. Back to last season Jimmy and Tyler stopped playing together the chemistry was off. This suspension is really bad, i knew it was toxic but not this toxic where they want him completely away from the team. IF he gets traded I'm sure he will return to price Jimmy form but he wasnt living up to his capabilities here for at least 2 seasons.

even expiring contracts + picks is enough. We are not getting a star and JImmy wasnt going to contribute up to his level here anyway.
Teams with the most draft capital:
Washington Wizards: They have 20 draft picks, including 14 first-round picks and 6 second-round picks between 2024 and 2028.

I’ve wondered the same lol “hey we want to go Star hunting but we’re going to trade our best complimentary pieces and tradable salary” hasn’t made sense to me either

Larson Terry Burks
Herro Duncan
Jovic Jaquez
Bam Johnson
Ware Love
If we can flip Terry and Duncan we only have Herro and Bam on big money. Should give us enough cap space to do something

Can technically be done w/o a 3rd team but heat would have too many players coming back and would need to send their young guys back to the g league
Can send some of the filler to a cap space team and toss them a young player for their trouble

Dunno about the Pacers, wasn't their trade for siakam the missing piece type move? And would those two play well together? Jimmy also loves playing slow and IND plays fast.
But like you mentioned, a 3rd team could be necessary to finalize a trade with this new CBA and apron teams and matching salaries etc. Depending on the destination of course. It won't make this happen any faster, that's for sure. Still got a month tho. But heat hate drama.

No idea what the restrictions are for 2nd apron teams, but this trade works financially:
Miami gets J Randle, A Wiggins, G Payton II
Minnesota gets Kuminga and D Robinson
Golden St gets J Butler and P Reed
Piston gets Looney and some draft consideration/cash for taking Looney
P Reed doesn't need to be included, but I assume Golden St would appreciate having a big body to replace Looney.
Bam / Love / Ware
Randle / Jovic
Wiggins / JJJ / Larsson
Highsmith / Rozier / Burks
Herro / Payton II / J Richardson
