Adding Highsmith to the Butler trade adds a lot of spice

They’ve made Herb untouchable with Murphy, the only 2 guys they won’t trade and in the past they’ve wanted 2+ 1sts for him. Not happening unfortunately, if we’re going the Pels route need to just go ahead and get Zion

I don't want to hear any excuses out of you get it done 3ammy

NBA players don't care. The Phoenix Suns had a cheap, racist owner but still managed to put together a team that went to the finals.

Look, no one likes Pierce, but notice all the posts are about attacking him and staying dead dead dead quiet about what he said. We can destroy the messenger, but that message is just simple common sense that we don't want to hear, thats why it stings so much. Thats why it pisses us off. It's like he said what we dont want anyone to say out loud. He is airing out our dirty little secret. Thats not even addressing the financial issue of 50+ mil lost by leaving X team to come here. Again Star players, their agents, their circle of influence all see what is happening and they are not idiots.

The message is wrong.

In Pats 30 years here the Heat have been to the finals 7 times. Roughly once every 4 years.

They never tanked and have almost always been competitive. Went to the finals with three different configurations over this timeframe.

Shaq was washed
Bron chose to go home
Wade was washed
Jimmy is washed

Herro 24
Bam 27
Zion 24
Fox 27

That’s a 7-8 year championship core

Zion's too young for Pat, bro. If he was 32 years old instead of 24, then we'd be talking business

I had a perfect three Team trade for Smart and Ingram that lines up perfectly for everyone. Even gets the Pels out of tax which they desperately want.

right move to trade jimmy

The contract he wants at his age ... too much

We gave it a good run, and Jimmy should be thankful he had 2 legit shots at a ring. Didn't work out

When people mention the bad endings we’ve had with superstars, they’re forgetting the few things they have in common.

Wade, Shaq and Jimmy are all at around the same age and contract situation as to when things turned sour. All wanted final, legacy paydays that take them through their late thirties. Wade had taken unders, so it’s fair that he wanted some degree of return later on. That wasn’t the case with Shaq or Jimmy, who were paid max dollars and were more than fairly compensated. Availability also became an issue for all three of them too, which is an issue that wouldn’t improve with age.

Bron is the outlier, who left in his prime for other reasons. But it’s clear that management doesn’t want to pay max dollars to players in the twilight of their career.

Clarke can play with Ware off the bench but we have a cheaper option in Keshad. Clarke is an awful shooter

lol Clarke and Smart are not pieces you add to a team that's losing Jimmy Butler, in hopes of making a deep playoff run. Those are pieces you add to a core with Jimmy Butler staying.

That being said, adding Brandon Ingram to this core, along with a Zion, those are realistic pieces that can be had via a three way deal (or just straight up for Jimmy and Duncan) that really has a chance of allowing us to go on a deep run.

There is no realistic way we get both Zion and Ingram.
