The Heat is not taking back bad contracts. Most players you thrown out are one dimensuonal players. If they want to stay competitive this season, they are not taking Dlo unless they have an eye to trade him to a third team for upgrade and they may barely receiving some sort of DFS level player (non needle mover) in return at best. If you were Riley, will you do this trade?

You’re missing the point. The dlo contract rolls off whereas now we have to use Vincent or vandos contract in its place. If we are presenting an offer, the worth isn’t in any of these players. The worth is in the draft picks but also freeing up salary. I’m tired of explaining this point over and over in this thread. It seems multiple posters on here can’t seem to grasp the idea of relative value of trade offers and how an expiring is better than a non expiring deadbeat (Vincent, vando)

Our point is, even Dlo is an expiring contract, Heat would not have wanted Dlo at the first place.

That’s a dumb point though. It’s all relative. He’s better than taking on Vincent or vando because you can literally buy him out or just let him expire.

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Well! Glad you guys got your shots in calling me an idiot for saying the trade was beyond dumb. Sure looks like dfs gonna carry us to the promise land, instead of a bona fide star like jimmy/zion/ingram. Really smart to give up our biggest expiring for dfs lmao. Where’s Wurtzwerner to tell me dfs is a more valuable player than Zion Williamson

Suns fan here, any chance LeBron pushes for a 3rd star trade to contend?

Beal for Hachimura, Vanderbilt, Vincent, Christie

Lakers starting 5 - Reaves, Beal, James, Finney-Smith, Davis

Also while I'm here ... Q) Can someone tell me what the hell did Rui do In this game vs Mavs 25 minutes

Rui: 6pt, 1stl, 2ast, 1 reb ... I mean WTF?

DFS: 11pt, 3 reb, 3/4 3pt?

I didn't see the game, so how was DFS's defense. Lakers didn't get him for scoring and yet 11pt over Rui's 6.

Yeah I'm definitely making Rui available though I believe he'll sort out tonights debacle... if you look at this game logs here, it's suprprisingly meh compared to what the games look like but it is telling.

Good of Rob to keep those picks and not be pressured. Duo of AD/Lebron has ran it's course. At times AD looks like the 40 year old. Is there any team AD could potentially be traded to? I'd love to get a major haul for this fraud.

So Do you think Heat is deemed to not compete this season ? Not only do teams think of the salary stuff, they still want the trophy. If you are talking about those tank teams, sure. Not the Heat unless they look to start the rebuild right away after bulter's time there.

I love Reaves.... but after this season we will have to resign him to 30/mil season contract..

is it time to consider, RUI, Vando, gabe, wood, and AR for butler, Jrich and love... if we have to do pics, We do ONE pick swap (top 10 protected) for one of their (top 20 protected) MAX.

Butler is a playoff game changer and brings in immediate toughness, and defense.... worth re-signing at 5 yr/220 mil bargain deal for his caliber player. A lot of that contract should be guaranteed IF minimum games (or minutes) standard has been met.

You're kidding about Jimmy Butler, right? He's 35 on an extra season+ on his legs. There's no way he holds up like this to 40.

team option last year. no other talent at that level could be had for the package we can offer

other option is.... Rui, Gabe, Vando, hood, wood for butler
.. they save 2-3 mil in salary and gives them some cushion to sign another free agent

Also lebron will take less next year for us to truly compete for a chip

Butler is too much of a head case and his contract makes it impossible to make a deal that doesn't leave the roster thin.

Ayo Dosunmu for Knecht + JHS
Lonzo for Rui + Cam
Olynyk for Gabe + Hayes + 2nds.

Reaves - Christie - DFS - Lebron - AD
Lonzo - Ayo - Vanderbilt - Wood - Olynyk

Lakers out: Hachimura, Vanderbilt, Vincent, Hood-Schifino, Jaxon Hayes, Christian Wood, and Reddish.

Lakers in: LaVine and Jevon Carter

Lakers sign: Biyombo, Dwight Howard, Keita Bates-Diop, Troy Brown Jr., and Cedi Osman

PG - James - Reaves - Milton
SG - LaVine - Carter - James
C -- Davis - Biyombo - Howard
PF - Smith - BatesDiop - Osman
SF - Christie - Knecht - Brown Jr.

Good for Lakers because, with LaVine, they get athleticism in the backcourt and reliable deep-shooting and consistent scoring. With Carter, they get a designated PG-defender, essentially a cheaper version of Vincent. They also get to free up five roster spots for two backup centers and three combo forwards.

Bad for Lakers because LaVine is terribly expensive, virtually untradable, and has shown a propensity to be as bad as Reaves on defense (albeit with much more ability).

Good for Chicago because they get to split LaVine's contract into smaller pieces, which should be easier to trade. In the meantime, they get to showcase Hachimura on a team that needs his scoring, and they can slowly rebuild Vanderbilt's value as a backup, impact forward.

Bad for Chicago because they receive lesser talent. Hachimura is good, but he's no LaVine, and although Hachimura has loads talent to be great, he has seldom shown his ability to be nothing more than an offensive role-player. Vanderbilt is potentially another bad contract for them, and in order to complete this trade they'll have to waive three guys, one of which (Julian Phillips) they may really like.
