Rather than making a massive swing, I think we still have runway with the current group (or with a medium move, like a Bobby trade). I really want to see AJ Green with the starting unit, especially if Midds is coming off the bench. The numbers are fantastic when AJ is with Dame and Giannis, and I think we need to get away from the 3 on 5 offense we start games with. Prince (Tony Snell) can at least hit open threes, but teams just ignore Dre in general, and great help defenders get to park on him and make life miserable for our best guys.

If Butler can be had for sending out Lopez, Bobby, Pat, 31 1st and salary filler, I would do it. It means Giannis is your 5 and we would need some vet mins to fill out the roster. But I don’t think I include Middleton.

Dame, Green/Trent, Midds, Butler, Giannis. Give Midds and Butler more run with the second units so they can get their numbers too. Ideally we get a mobile 5 back in the deal somehow but I think the play is adding Butler to Dame/Midds/Giannis not using Midds to get Butler.

You need at least 8 players going out to add Butler next to Dame/Midds/Giannis. It just can't happen.

Wow, you're committed to some small ball. Give Bud all his guys back.. Brook, Bobby and KM and get Durant... Pat C. somewhere else ... then at least we get a 7 fter back.. Giannis and Durant twin towers lol

Lopez, Bobby, Pat, Marjon, Jax make slightly more than Butler. That’s more like three pieces and salary (depending on your view of Ajax

It does transform the team mid season but I think that’s championship caliber rotation. Of course ideally you’d find a serviceable big that could spot start but have to think there will be buy out guys drooling to play with that roster.

Yes, however, to aggregate their salaries, we need to also get under the 2nd apron. So 8 players, but you can only aggregate 1 player on the veteran minimum now too. It's just too much.

Since you are combing salaries, you also have to send at least 6.5 mil more than what you receive to skip the 2nd apron. You need to combine Brook, Bobby, Pat, Johnson, Marjon, Wright, Prince, Livingston to get there and even that is not enough since you will have just 1.3 mil to fill 6 spots.

Miami is desperate. The only other team interested is Phoenix, so our offer, no matter what we offer, is better than taking on Beal. Send our guys out for draft capital and matching salaries, and those matching salaries and a couple 2nds is all Miami should get.

Yup. Don't overpay, don't bid against yourself. Unfortunately I don't think Horst can do that.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hi guys,

Heat fan, here. I come in peace. Lol!

I see you guys speculating about potential Jimmy trades. I think it's been mentioned already but I think the deal is Jimmy for Portis and Middleton with Pat going to a third team.

I can't speculate on the picks too much, though I would imagine Miami would expect a first. No source for that, just my gut.

I don't really see a need for Middleton as we have plenty on the wing right now with Herro, Jacquez, Robinson, Highsmith (who would move back to the perimeter with Portis and Jovic manning the four), Burks, and Larsson. I would hope we'd be able to flip him for an expiring or take on a bag contract ending at the same time for an asset.

The only thing that would be worse than trading for Butler would be trading for Lavine.

Although, I will say that I don't care too much as long as that 31 first isn't in any deal. I hope they're not stupid enough to include that for either of these guys.

Suns fan. I hope you guys send him to them. I have some little interest in Butler-and he'll fit better with MIL. Plus they can make that contract offer to re-up in the summer.

Challenge accepted. Facilitating a Jimmy trade to Phoenix and ending up with Beal.

Welcome. I don't think anyone wants to give up a 1st for Jimmy since he is a huge risk to walk next year and not many teams will want to pay him what he wants as well. Does it help knowing Mids Has a player option next year?
