and tbh, i don't watch enough blazers to know who calamari is but i do know wanting to deal the heart of our team is blasphemous. you should be ridiculed and shunned for it. terrible person.

 I’ll take a guy who’s been in the finals already.

Heart of the team is some bs and you know that  we can’t beat any top team in the league. That schit is meaningless when those teams are trapping Brunson and KAT cause hart is scared to shoot.

been to the finals...

big baby davis has a championship ring. so the suns dragged ayton to the finals while he was contract hunting and you're going to use that as some metric of his worth. pls.

i'm dead serious - leave jHart alone. he isn't the problem. now mikal - he is fair game. but not jHart.

 Ayton averaged like 16/13 in that playoff run on elite effiency. Comparing him to glen davis is nasty work.

I like Josh hart but there’s no way he should be a starter. Hes a problem against the elite teams. You’re being fooled by his triple doubles against trash teams.

8-) thank you - I thought that was a good one.

jHart isn't a problem. the amount of mins he plays is the problem. you're blaming a good player for our bench issue. this is a FO/coach issue.

How surprising that he is ignoring your question. He keeps comparing the current team with the January version of last year to blame the trade when in reality the trade had nothing to do with losing Hartenstein to OKC and Mitch via injury. Without the trade we would probably play Randle at the 5. Our rim protection would be elite lol.

Is this years team better than last years? Maybe not. But that is not because we made the trade. Take away Hartenstein and Mitch from last years team and we probably would have missed the playoffs.

No one is ignoring schit. My bad I’m not on here every day. Y’all really weird. Ive already said mad times what we should’ve done to mitigate the loss of Ihart which you conviently missed to type up this trash. Guys like Nick Richards, Myles Turner, Ayton are all guys who we could’ve gotten that are holding the opponents to a lower FG% than their average at the rim unlike KAT who has a DFG% of 70% at the rim letting opponents shoot 5% better, the worst rim protecting center in the league. And it’s not just KAT at the 5 that made us worse, giving up a major haul for Mikal who can’t spread the floor since his shot is broken and plays zero defense was an awful move. Now we also have Hart in the starting lineup who’s an average defender at best, while teams are ignoring on him on offense to double up on Brunson and KAT. Y’all not ready for that convo either though.

Anyone that believed a defensive trio of Brunson, KAT and Mikal would be a finals contender is pretty hilarious quite honestly. Me, sham, e-Balla told y’all this but yall ignored it cause yall only see talent on paper. Oh well. Enjoy the treadmill that you guys asked for.

Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of paying KAT $50-60M over the next 4 years as he nears the age of 30 with some injury concerns to pair him another defensive liability in Brunson who also isn't a great facilitator and Thibs, a coach who he struggled with defensively before, is not known to maximize his team's offensive talent and is not great at managing the health of his players. I would have the same concerns pairing Brunson, DDV, Randle and someone like Ayton with Thibs along with my worries about the personalities of Randle and Ayton especially in moments like now with the team struggling and the fan base not exactly being supportive.

I don't think adding Hart and another injured big is the direction Portland should be going in and I doubt they would move a young wing in the process.

I'm not sure if Mikal would have been on your team so how do you see the Brunson, DDV, OG, Randle, Ayton lineup working with Thibs?

Right, so we lost iHart and Mitch.

Spoiler:

That killed our interior defense.

Spoiler:

We're also a little strapped on wings right now.

And our coach is a maniac so we need guys who can stand heavy minutes.

But in terms of offensive weapons, we're actually doing pretty good.

All that said, Hart's rebounding and playmaking helps a lot with some of the deficiencies left by players that we lost.

The NBPA should automatically block money on its legacy fund whenever melo champions a player 21 or under.

All these young peoples losing their careers.

Deandre Ayton was asked Wednesday to define what success in the NBA looks like to him. "Definitely getting to my second contract; that's my success"

The guy told the whole world as a draftee that he didn't care about winning and was going to pack it in once he got paid at the draft

I think that lineup would’ve been pretty good imo. Ayton has a better offensive game than Ihart did so he wouldn’t clog the paint and would open up floor for Brunson and Randle even more. Ayton is a wild card when it comes to effort, but we do have the guy who had him playing his best ball of his career (mark Bryant). Either way, even with his effort issues he’s still substantially a much better rim protector than KAT which is pretty wild.

But forget about Ayton which everyone wants to focus on, there were other options out there like Nick Richards, Myles Turner.. etc. we had multiple avenues to get an Ihart replacement and run it back.

So Mitch and Hart for Camara and Ayton? I like Camara. He would be a great get but not at the cost of getting Ayton and especially not for those two. Hard no.

Also, I most certainly was not talking about Sharpe much, if at all, in the offseason. The offseason was Goga Time and HE was the iHart replacement. I stand by that.

I've only been talking about Sharpe since the KAT trade/Mitch injury. He would be a stopgap player until Mitch returns and potentially a low cost add since Jersey doesn't play him much. A good depth piece, which he is. Goga though? He's a substantially better player than Sharpe.

Imagine ragging on me for wanting to acquire a player who produces at a similar level to Ayton per minute at just more than 1/10 the salary.

Per 36:
Day'Ron - 16ppg, 13.1rpg, 0.9 blk
Ayton - 16.3ppg, 12.1rpg, 1 blk

Nets 6+ points better with Sharpe on the court.
Blazers 4.5 points worse with Ayton on the court.
