Doncic and SGA both free agents in 26? Wow.

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/free-agents/_/year/2026/sort/contract_value

I would kill for SGA, but hes a Thunder for life.

Doncic is the guy if you can get him but I doubt he leaves Dallas. The fit would be glorious and we'd be full on back to the villains of the NBA.
I have a feeling t SGA stardom would rapidly decline in Miami or anywhere else.

So yeah, I would only get doncic...but we are not going to get him...so stop dreaming.

unlike bam, he is not afraid to seize the moment and i like that from him

Last year the HEAT were No. 7 with 23.8 paint touches per 100 possessions. This year they are No. 21 at 21.5 per 100.

On the other side of things, last year the HEAT were No. 5 at 20.5 paint touches allowed per 100 possessions. This year they are No. 20 at 23.3 per 100.

Bam Adebayo is up to +2.2 in Defensive EPM, tied for No. 10 in the league and No. 4 among players averaging 30+ minutes. He’s allowing a typically stingy 0.82 points per possession against isolations used by the ballhandler.

In man-to-man defense the HEAT have a defensive rebounding rate of 74.5, No. 15 in the league, with that rate the equivalent of No. 5 when Adebayo is on the floor. In their zone defense their rebounding rate actually climbs to 76.1, equivalent of No. 6 on the overall leaderboards. In fourth quarters, however, the team’s defensive rebounding rate drops to the equivalent of No. 30.

Nikola Jovic and Kel’el Ware have connected on eight lobs so far this season, the third highest combination on the team behind Adebayo and Duncan Robinson and Adebayo and Tyler Herro. Of course, Jovic and Ware have played relatively few minutes together, and of the 67 combinations in the league that have more than five lobs Jovic and Ware have the fifth-highest lobs per 100 possessions rate at 1.76.

Coup words on the Bam-Ware lineup and some general tidbits (see above). This was before last night's game.

Luka is the one we will target. The Mavs are not built to contend in Luka's next contract. They need a ring likely this year, and right now they are a play in team in the west. We need to get Goran on staff here and start the process of tampering.

Luka
Herro
JJJ
Bam
Ware
6th man Niko

After Luka gets bounced this year he will start catching a ton of strays about his work ethic, and the need to win a ring to cement his standing as an all time great. Luka will be in a similar position as to what LeBron was in 2010. Luka has a whole other level of his game he could get to if he was simply in shape.

In the last 40 years, the list of players who scored 20 pts, grabbed 15 boards and swatted 2 blocks in their first start is 2 players long.

If Miami can get 2025 and 2027 FRPs in the Jimmy trade, I'm pretty at peace with Miami missing the playoffs this season. Can't say I'm rooting for it because I want our competitors to compete and grow. But, could be a lot of positives:

- Lotto pick in 2025 draft that is def stronger than 2024 and likely better than 2026
- More onboarding time for the next youth addition to fit the 2026+ window of the squad
- Full offseason for rest & development. Bam needs this more than anyone IMO. Got the Olympic legs rn and isn't teamed up with much help aside from Herro to get through it.

There is def a player in the lotto who will make us better. If we get lucky, we jump into the top 2. If not, you add a contributor.

Ware with 15 pounds of muscle added, becomes super solid.

Another offseason and Jovic becomes steadier.

Bam and Jaime gets their legs back. Let them all
develop.

If we luck in to a top pick, then Fox has to be interested in this build.

You guys think Lakers would want Terry?

We can take back Gabe and a decent filler + a second rounder

We are going to have to give up assets to get off Terry. Probably both of our second rd picks at minimum and to a team that’s tanking. Hoping we can swap him out for either Brown or Brogdon as those contracts match.

You don't need to get rid him as a negative this season, next year he becomes a positive expiring chunky contract that Miami can use in their pre-free agency (as in a player who would be a free agent in 2026 just gets acquired early and extended) or just let him expire. Of course, you wouldn't use that expiring contract to just take in someone who would be just helpful while eating away from that 2026 free agency money Miami can have.

I think we'll have plenty of expiring up coming contracts that I would probably be ok getting rid of Rozier's salary for the tax savings next year and potential to use the MLE for one of Bruce Brown or Brogden's expirings. Middleton, Portis, and Duncan equal about 60 million.

I think Miami will be getting out of the tax next season with this Butler move. Basically, getting out of the tax next year will be part of the assets Miami receives; they'll probably save some tax money this year as another incentive. Like I mentioned last summer, the FO will get rid of Butler and the fan base will be on their side. I can't think Riley didn't know what he was doing not only saying shut up last summer but then going to the press to say we're not trading Bulter. I think Riley's played everyone. Had the FO traded him this summer there would have been a good portion of the fanbase mad, now, there's very little of the fanbase mad. Come on... we all know Butler, Riley pushed exactly how he needed to get this reaction.

Miami can use this year and next as development years for the younger players, then after the FA of 2026 comes the tougher decisions on who stays and who goes with the rookies starting to come off their rookie contracts.

Return to Miami Heat
