Probably someone who can defend but cannot shoot.

Any suggestions? We need to get these bums out of here.

What about Paolo 1 for 14? Wendell didn't lose us the game alone. Paolo's bad game plus our TOs killed the game

There we go, the most reasonable take we can mostly all agree on. Close the thread, mods.

The team only shot 25 threes, 5 less than any team is averaging this year, so there shouldn't be much to complain about! We just have no consistent players on offensive right now and our defense looks worse.
Oh yeah good point, I guess I should actually pay attention to his posts

SImons looked fine but every time I see a Portland poster anywhere online, they try to pawn him off like a used car salesman. Gives me vibes of Cole for our fans lol

If Mosley can somehow spin this into a character developing moment for the players then he is a wizard. Gonna take some work for him to keep it on the rails. Winning cures all, but gotta win first for that to happen.

Am I crazy for wanting us to trade for LaVine? I've been inching closer and closer to wanting it done but I'm getting desperate. It would be hard to match money without including KCP and I don't love that.

Our shooting is historically bad, or at least we are headed in that direction, and we don't score enough in general.

Losing Moe Wagner was big deal, we just lack offensive players. Watching Isaac tonight is pure pain. Guy is C who can't shoot to save his life but stays on perimeter every possession. Feels like watching Bamba

And he is gone for the season. Gone. No chance of coming back, so no point in being patient. Still no visible effort has been made to have Moe replaced, but we managed to see Houston playing PF for a while...

Knightro wrote:I know the focus is understandably on the offense, but the Magic were No. 3 in DRTG at 106.4 when Suggs got injured.

Since then they're 18th in DRTG at 114.3.

The offense was bad either way, it's gotten slightly worse, but the defense has just fallen off the cliff in January.

Them playing too hard on defense got them hurt in first place, you can't just grind out every game for 82 games.
You need reliable offense to win to expand margins of errors.

And also when you grind out and you still are losing, or have hardly any lead, due fact you can't score at all, your effort will go down as well eventually because people get frustrated and make more errors.

We scored 79 points, talking about defense is silly. You can't keep somebody under 70 points in modern era, teams score 30 points a quarter.

He is Cole... but a more consistent version of good-Cole. Exactly what we could use off the bench.

Yeah, that move would be too desperate and financially strapping. Simons is a much cheaper risk for the same gain.

Or make some big consolidations and get Fox if we’re gonna take on a larger contract.

I think Wendell has cemented himself on the bench when Goga gets back.

It's because we want the team to go young. He's a really good player, but this Blazer team needs to be in a youth rebuild and letting their #3 pick from 2023 draft get reps instead of being forced to come off the bench. Scoot can't develop with an inconsistent role that he's forced into by bad coaching and Simons being in front of him.

We also want Ayton, Thybulle, Grant and Williams gone, not because they aren't good and useful players, but because we want this team to be AWFUL, like absolutely putrid so they can have a locked in Top 6 pick range. This team shouldnt have anyone on it with more than 4yrs experience.

I'm just not a fan. Maybe I underestimate the impact he would have as a guy that teams actually have to bother defending. But all I see is an undersized guard that doesn't defend, doesn't rebound, and is an inconsistent scorer.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

How about Simons now, Orlando? Our three point shooting is 24% tonight and our three point shooting is worst in the league by a mile. Start to think about Simons, Mr. Jeff and Parker!

Somehow watching Isaac brick threes and take ill-advised shots is 10x more easier to stomach than Wendell running around with his head cut off.

They both suck this year tbh.
Carter just has zero confidence, Isaac never had any offense in him but this year it's worst than ever.

Carter looks execlly how Bulls fans described him after trade. Guy is good one week, next 4 Monstars steal his talent

Hard to be positive. The team looks like they want to give up. Suggs and Moe are the hype guys. There is little energy and everyone looks depressed.
