Kyle Kuzma No Longer Trying To Fit In With Wizards

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Jan 26, 2025 9:07 pm

Kyle Kuzma has apparently had enough of deferring to his younger Wizards teammates. Kuzma said he's done trying to fit in and will play his game moving forward.

"I think today I just decided to be myself and not really just try to fit into everything that we’re doing here, and just really played in the moment," Kuzma said. "I think my mom helped me out with that. I saw her today."

When pressed on what not fitting in means, Kuzma double-down by saying he plans to be more aggressive in games.

"I mean just not trying to fit into what we’re trying to do here. Just being more assertive, demanding the ball, not just going out there and trying to let people develop. Just playing my game," Kuzma said.

The veteran forward's comments came after the Wizards lost to the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. Kuzma scored a season-high 30 points and matched his season high with 11 rebounds.

Almost low key trade request ever. I kinda get what he’s saying, probably should’ve used different words. Losing takes a toll.

The current employer has made him look worse than he actually is making him less appealing to other potential employers.. He looks below average when he is probably smack on average and on occasion can raise slightly above.. He is in a tough spot.

Same guy who didn't want to be traded to NBA Finalist, Dallas, last season. Decision making isn't always the best, just look at how he dresses. :D

Yeah, but he said it in a quite stupid short-sighted way

Is he really trying to convince himself that this is why he has sucked for three and a half months? Good luck not sucking for the next three and a half months.

Kuzma is great when he's the 3rd or 4th best player on the team. He's just simply not the guy to carry a team and that's okay. no shame in that.

have you ever played basketball? like really played competetive basketball? not la fitness or pick up games. where you are with a team thoughout a season. its a serious question, and i dont mean any offense by asking that.

but if you have, you should know that as a teamplayer you try to fit in on a team and that can definitley impact your performance on the court. i have played semi pro in europe (its not a brag, i havent been that good) and i have played in several different teams. When i was on teams where the coach gave me greenlight and trust to "play in the moment" my performance is vastly better than when the coach tries to tell me, who i play off of or plays are ran for other players. it has a huge impact.

some peopel on here legit dont know what its like to be in a locker room and being coached.

the absolute TOP END players like lebron, curry, KD, etc. are so good that those rules dont apply to them. but the majority of players in the world have to try and fit in.

Exactly. This is a trade request and a showcase to other teams that he can still play at a high level.

I actually had no input in any argument. Just admiring that Harvard education.
