Re: Ranking Anthony Black So Far
According to the Cavs fans, Ty Jerome is the cat's meow of role players, and Black is way ahead of him in development.

Elfrid Payton 2.0
He'll have his truthers, endlessly praising his occasional flash of ability, before eventually piping down after he gets dumped for a 2nd round pick.

Based on these results there's a 15% probability he gets a max extension (25%+ cap hit). 47% probability his cap hit is above 12% of the cap.
That's a coin flip that he fits right into the KCP cap space and some.

What exactly is unique about his tools? Tall PGs with very good defence are hardly something new in the NBA.

I see the ceiling as a fringe All-star if he hits on all cylinders.....I think he eventually can be a solid starter in the league....what he looks like in his 3rd year could change the trajectory

I like AB a lot.
I think he will develop into a solid starter.
Right now..he has some work to do.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

He's in year 2. Just for comparison sake how do we feel his first 2 seasons compare to Suggs first 2 seasons?

Re: Ranking Anthony Black So Far
I am super high on him, he has moments where even with Franz and Paolo on the court he can take over both ends. The question becomes is can he do this for 48 minutes? If he had even a Paolo level jump shot, this thread would be discussing his MVP candidacy.

He's fine. Easy to forget he only just turned 21 a week ago.
Not sure he's ever going to be a big star or anything, but he can be a useful two-way piece.

These results affirm to me why sweater vest points is the best advanced metric out there. Our forum knows Magic basketball and it is a great sample of Magic fandom.

He is a future asset, his NPV would look different than future value. He needs to develop physically to use his height advantage, that guy Shead was pushing him around the other night. I just dont see him reaching his potential for a while if at all and Paolo and Franz are ready to go now so I see him as probably the Magics best trade asset. I personally believe that the Magic have shown over the years that they are not the best at developing players.
What I'll say though is that if the Spurs got ahold of him it wouldn't surprise me if Popp turned him into an allstar in a few years.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I'd be happy for him...who's coming back? POP already has Castle who is better today, as a rookie in that spot.

That’s something to strongly consider cause he’s saying IT’S the system and not the player. Look at our coaching staff. There’s absolutely no excuse for it. NBA coaches and assistant coaches contract Do not count towards salary cap. Players don’t forget how to play basketball or forget how to shoot.

Castle is already better? Seems pretty close to me, and I'd give the edge to AB for his defense.Skybox wrote:The-Stallion70 wrote:He is a future asset, his NPV would look different than future value.
