Cmon Harper snap out of it!
No don't, fall like Demin, let's say 8th, just to be safe.
He's not falling that far, but he's in danger of falling to #3.

Harper recovering from a sprained ankle is why he came off the bench played less than 15 mins vs MSU

Guy can't catch a break he was sick now he's dealing with a ankle injury.
Sucks Rutgers won't even make the tournament because that team is trash outside of Harper and Bailey.

The potential to be the 2-way long-term starter that can play above mediocre? He has very high potential. Everyone else is just scraps.Snidely FC wrote:GiggitySmalls wrote:Hes my guy if we pick 3 through 7. Which is likely. I'd take him over Bailey. More dimensions to his game while simultaneously fitting a gaping hole that we have on our team.
Don't get me wrong Edgecomb is worthy as a top 5 pick but we seem to be collecting 6'5 defensive specialist average 3 pt shooting guards so I am just curious about what gaping hole you see Edgecomb fits?

Yeah, with Edgecombe the thinking is that a reasonable outcome for him could be at least a high level starter version of someone like Martin/Okogie, whereas the latter two are more bench level rotation talents.

Would be happy to get VJ anywhere from 3 thru 5. Heck, happy to get a top 5 pick in this draft. Ecstatic to get #1 of course.
Gotta believe the draft starts with Flagg, and some mix of Harper, VJ, Bailey and Jaku after.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Can VJ reliably beat guys off the dribble?
I'm super anti any perimeter player who can't get buckets 1-on-1

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
He probably isn't getting mocked in the top 5 for his scoring, but he's dangerous enough teams can't hide their best scorer on him like they can against a more limited 3-and-D type, and those guys don't force teams to pack the paint and leave guys open when they get the ball. If he starts to hit threes consistently, look out.

At the other end of the spectrum, guys who absolutely get buckets and try hard but aren't stellar on defense. For my money, I'm betting on the elite defender, but I get arguing for the anti-Edgecombes.

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
If not for Scoot, LaMelo's ankles are a vote of confidence for Dylan Harper.
Harper could be in short order the NBA's top PG2 at a very young age. If LaMelo's ankles act up, slide Harper into starting PG and Hornets can survive an injury to their best player. Everything hinges on LaMelo's stamina.
Time to insure it.

I've been saying that for a month now atleast. He's the guy if we don't pick 1 or 2. Another great game and more to come. It's going to become clear to everyone else really soon if it already isnt.EmpireFalls wrote:Valdez Edgecombe Jr. is the guy. Let’s not overthink this one.

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
My best guess for how the first few picks play out at this point would be Flagg goes #1 for sure, then likely Dylan Harper at #2, then it seems like Bailey, Kasparas, and Edgecombe, currently have the best cases for #3.
Bailey seems the riskiest to me, but NBA teams really value traits at the top of the draft and his combination of traits and young age is going to be hard for NBA front offices to pass on (#2 would not be a surprise for him). Kasparas seems like the safest and Edgecombe seems like a good combination of solid floor with good upside. I'm still pretty risk averse when it comes to this team, so I'd maybe lean a bit away from Bailey, but I think it would be hard not to be excited about any of those three if they are picking 3-5.

Doesn't really answer my question
Hes shooting about 47% from 2pt, which isn't good. His handle looked like a weakness to me that was limiting his driving in the little bit of game action I caught the other day. Also seems like hes struggled a bit finishing when he isn't able to dunk, but part of that could be crappy college spacing. Hes a legit freak athletically though and he doesn't seem to have many other weaknesses if he continues to shoot well from the outside (up to about 39% from 3pt).

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
Yall sleeping on Bailey. That kid is already a bucket and he can't really pass or dribble. He's only 18 if this kid can improve even a little bit with that handle he's gonna be a problem. He also plays pretty good defense.
Bailey is still that clear #3 guy imo

Re: 2025 Draft Prospect Thread
Bailey 37 points this kid is legit.
He's probably in that #2 spot now. So much potential!
A 6'10 shot creator is gonna have teams salivating. His defense gets overlooked because of his scoring ability. This is possibly a 2 way wing we are looking at.
I'm getting Miller vibes but he has more in his bag due to his post game and mid range shooting.
