I hope LFC win the title this year as more of a Klopp fan and fan of certain players in like Salah, VVD, Trent.
Not because I hate City winning like in recent years but because I like as a viewer of Klopp style attack with more control and better defence.
Arsenal and Arteta is regressing badly with thier lack of offensive system of play. I want to see Pool being 9 points ahead after Everton game in hand. I'm hope to see the Pool fans here celebrate winning the title in the end since I don't have a fav PL team. :)

Pool fans do you think Slot will rest players in a not so important CL game vs Lille on Tuesday?
Feel like resting Salah or VVD is important to limit injuries.

I am concerned for Quansah. Slot would rather rush Konate, who looked off it today.

EDIT: TAA's play was poor. Several times throughout van Dijk looked at him in disgust, shaking his head. If Trent's head is turned, move on.

Completely called it.

"I tried to come back 100% but I'm not because I rushed my comeback with my knee," Konaté said in a news conference on Monday. "I've done this for my team. I can die for this team, it is fine. My knee will come back 100% soon, it's fine. I still have pain. I play with painkillers and that is enough for me to play.

"I was very close to coming back anyway. My plan was to train that week but when I saw Joe [Gomez] with his injury I was like: 'Okay, I have to come back quicker.' For sure, the first game I felt my knee a little bit, but it gets better day after day. The physios and the medical staff have done a great job for me."

Apparently we're looking to sign Jorrel Hato this window. While it will cost us more, I like the idea. We're a little thin on defense, and an extra body, if actually capable, would be great. I don't know much about him, but I do take pause at him being just 18 years old. I guess he'll be 19 in about 5-6 weeks...but still. Although to be fair, I suppose 22-23 year-old high level defenders aren't just growing on trees.

If Hato is a good defender (I assume he's gotta be at least "x-amount" good to be looked at by Liverpool) then signing him could make the difference, should we lose another defender. And given that we spent only 13 mil (was it 17??) for Chiesa, and apparently we've brought in the biggest payout from the CL (I think we got 83-mil) I think we should do it.

We'll have some FA cup, Carabao cup, and CL games he could be brought in for....give him some run. Wouldn't mind seeing VVD get a break once in a while.

Honestly do not know too much about him. From what I've read, he's plays LB/CB, which could certainly use cover. This would surprise me, though. Usually LFC allows other clubs to develop these types of players before targeting them between 22-24 years of age. Maybe a shift in transfer policy is occurring. There were rumors this summer of the club's interest in the 18-year old Leny Yoro, who ended up at Manchester United.

Along with Chiesa (€12m), Liverpool did bring in the GK Mamardashvili (€30m), though he remained at Valencia on loan.

If that young defender is good then it will be easier for him to grow and shine in Liverpool's current team. They have a strong system and a defensive leader that is back to his form as an all-time great central defender.

L.Yoro has much worse chance to breakthrough in a broken down team mentally and tactically like Man utd.
Konate was like 21 when he came to Liverpool.

Agree, especially with van Dijk, Gakpo and Slot all Dutch. He should be able to settle rather quickly.

By the way, Konate was 22, not 21, when he arrived at LFC.

Yeah he turned 22 the month before he joined LFC but he looked very raw to me because he had little experience. He averaged 16 games per season in Leipzig.
My point was more like it is easier looking inexperienced beside VVD, Robertson, Trent. Specially compared all the 20 year old defenders Chelsea has wasted it seems.
The more important challenge is to keep the squad from the injury crises that ruined the last years of Klopp.
Instability is the worst enemy of the new in the squad young players imho.

Sounds as if there will be no January incomings.

"Liverpool should always be competing for a league title, we should always be competing for the Champions League," Slot said in an interview for the BBC'S Football Focus. "I'm hoping I will be able to keep the club at that level."

"I know people sometimes question this because they haven't seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well. There's a reason for that -- because we're happy with the squad."

"But I do know we're definitely working on strengthening in the summer."

Hope they give him the right players in the summer. Slot deserves to invest time with new players that can improve the squad in his eyes.

Half joking, but the club will probably present the new contracts of Salah and van Dijk, if they happen, as new incomings, and therefore, using up much of the transfer budget. It's the Liverpool way under FSG...

I'd certainly like a couple signings for depth...in the right positions. And the team has more than earned it...with the $$ they've brought in. But Slot has earned my trust thus far...and if he doesn't want to deal with it yet, then I'll go with it.

Not impressed by Quansah, his chances to be good back up after this game and Robertson looks like a shell of him self defensively but it was probably a game more important to enhance the experience of McConnell, Danns and Bradley. For your teams future growth, i was impressed by the ball control, the technical ability of McConnell and Danns moves like a true striker.

Happy with the win today. Ever the pessimist, even I have to admit the window is closing here. 15 games left, and pretty solidly in charge. NOT OVER....I wanna make that clear. But the math is starting to look mighty fine.

So....do people want a draw tmrw with City and Arse, or a City win? It must be the PTSD....cause I'm rootin for a draw. I dunno man...I just don't wanna see ANY momentum getting going with them. I almost take an Arsenal win over a City win.

We'd have to collapse for City to catch us. I'd much rather Arsenal drop points, especially since Saka should be back at some point.
It's time for 5 refs.

Draw is the best imho and I don't want to give Man City false hope of trying to compete for the title. Arsenal would lose more than the 2 points with the draw, they would lose the faith a bit mentally seeing LFC beating Bournemouth that everyone lost to.

buyers remorse!! After seeing that, I wish City had won! Jesus. Gotta know Arsenal just got locked in. They are coming.

On the good side....I can forget City for the rest of the season. You have no idea how nice that feels.

Arsenal didn't look good imo, they are playing Mourinho football as soon they are up 1-0, the studio in halftime was complaining rightly.
City are just not good enough for top 4, 3 of the goals was Southampton level mistakes, defending.
There is no speed or quality to Arsenal attack and I can see why they lose points when they lead the game.

City is shocking this season and frankly the so called Big 6 teams are so uneven this year if Arsenal is second best team....

Manchester City's chances to win the league went with Rodri.

Doesn't matter how the club has played in past years, it was obvious to see early on the Citizens were not at previous levels.

The most important thing Liverpool can do is focus only on the next match. No need to look ahead as it appears Arsenal will push this to the end.
