This obviously goes against conventional thinking, but the Mavs think they know something we don’t. They’re essentially shorting Luka and betting on him never winning anything. They’re saying he’s OVERRATED.

This is like if Jeff Bezos sold all of his Amazon stock, all at once. If you’re an Amazon stockholder, aren’t you at least a little worried about your own shares?

We need to reevaluate Luka’s actual value.

We know his value based on the results we've seen from Luka.

They don't have to think AD is a better player, but rather a better fit for what they have with their roster. And I guess when I say they I mean one man, their GM.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

BUCKLE UP

People were saying that players didn’t wanna play with Luka. They respond by giving up 91 points (1 shy of an NBA record) in the first of half of the first game after the trade. OK….

This gonna blow your mind.

So im watching TV and this commercial comes on about a game show coming to TBS and guess who's the host of the show Anthony Davis.

Since when did AD become this talkative. He always been a quiet laid back dude.

Is it possible this was part of the behind the scenes deal?

Accept the trade you go to Dallas and we give you your own TV show on TBS.

Something fishy going on here...

Had to sleep on it. Yeah, Dallas got fleeced. Just one pick is laughable. De'Aaron Fox got Sacto back two 1sts (Charlotte's will turn into two second rounders since it's Lotto protected) and 3 second rounders.

Something to think about: Luka will now get Lakers ref treatment.

You have reading comprehension issues - nobody is justifying anything about this trade. Simply put it was a discussion about what can be perceived as value for one team means nothing, a team can make a trade for any number of reasons when their GM wants to.

Calling someone who is older than you a kid, low IQ. Go take your conspiracy theories elsewhere and cry about it.

As a Thunder fan I love this trade lol the path for us just got easier.

The Mavs have been a pain for us for the last two years I seem to think that's over now.

I would go back and read what you wrote kiddo, nobody would ever want AD instead of Luka at this stage of their careers in any scenario period.

The reason this is so shocking is because this is the first time in NBA history that 2 current All NBA players were traded for each other.

The shady part is that the somehow, after all their poor decisions- they still end up being GIFTED a top 5 NBA player, who is 26 years old, for a guy who is in the twilight of his career at age 32 with significant injury and leadership concerns.

There are 15>20 better guys and packages that the Mavs could have at least asked for before pulling the trigger on this, and yet the Lakers end up getting another superstar for what is essentially a ham sandwich in relative terms.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

The irony.

Imagine being this triggered by the Lakers and their ability to acquire stars.
