don’t pay attention to some of these guys, they are full on hopium. Ain’t no way Ishbia is trading KD. It’s just writers trying to generate income. If you look at Ishbias history of trading between the mercury and suns you will see there is a ZERO % chance KD or Book moves. Ain’t happening.

Heat taking on Beal is very complicated and probably not discussed much on here. Ownership is trying to avoid the repeater tax next year and Beal’s deal puts us 6 million over the tax line. Would need to let Duncan Robinson go or try and work a small extension with him to get under but won’t be by much. Would need some help getting an expiring deal for Rozier to get him off the books to alleviate this. Maybe Lonzo Ball for Rozier happens. Then comes Beal and his NTC messing up 2026 free agency for us but with Luka and Fox now off the board will see how that vision has changed. Also have Herro and Jovic extensions coming soon. The 2025,2027, and 2029 picks would help us even though they will not be very good picks because we are stuck in Stepian hell. This would unlock our own picks to deal.

Lol @ playoffs. You mean the one game playoff where Tyus will be targeted and abused on the defensive end and Suns lose by 20+

With all due respect after the Butler situation Luka was never going to the Heat.

Riley will retire after he destroys your team because we all know that players run the league.

So you are thinking Butler would get all three FRPs? Barely worth 1

Lets fast forward to next year as Butler and Durant continue to get older
OKC - better
Memphis - better
Spurs - should be better next year
Rockets - better
Lakers with Doncic - better
Denver --probably still better
Dallas - AD and Kyrie -
Minnesota
Kings

So still see don't see a true pathway of getting out of the West. Hence, Ishbia should be talking to Joe Lacob like he was talking to Joe Tsai a couple years ago this week and get Durant to GSW to appease STeph Curry

Ishbia can talk to DBook than about how he wants to proceed in Phoenix longer term

The 'take Beal's contract tax' is why the Suns would have to cough them all up.

Keeping in mind, many assumed if we were going to get Butler, it would require us giving up the '31 first. So 2 for taking Beal and one for Butler. All picks being late first rounders means they already don't have much value.

Little to no incentive to take on that Beal contract. Those 3 first are basically the equivalent of mid to late first early second rd picks. That’s why the Heat are steadfast in calling Butler’s bluff and just letting him sit to dare him to opt out. The only benefit like i mentioned is helping our Stepian problem. Maybe they had that in mind when they originally made the deal

Thats just a lot to give up to move off of Beal when Butler would help but if I am using picks like that for Butler - meaning multiple, could the Suns use them to get other players that round out the roster better than Butler would. Maybe a better Center, maybe a PF. Some athleticism.

Keep Beal as your sixth man and just build up the rest of the team. Spend two of the three FRPs.
You make two good trades - that team is probably better than the team you have after dumping Beal, trading 3 FRPs, getting Butler but still have issues with the rest of the roster.

The one question I would want to ask Jimmy Butler -"Why not the Memphis Grizzlies?"

34-16
second best record in the West
his skillset seems like would really add to that team and possibly push them to the WCF

Whether its GSW or the Suns -- I don't see that impact.

Return to Phoenix Suns
