I don't think so
Barring any injury we are set with KP, Al, Kornet and Queta in a pinch

Watson is getting more playing time than Tillman. I could see Watson coming up to the NBA.

Theis for sentimental, if not basketball, reasons could be an option. Doubt it happens though.

Kornet is a Bum! He is useless! Quetta is much better

Theis has to be an upgrade over the semi-useless Tillman and limited Queta...

Tillman is the only player who'd qualify as a Banger, meaning physical type, of all the Celtic C's and PF's.
So, he is their only bruiser, even if less skilled than Baylor Scheierman.
So, that's why they got him. But he's pretty much useless on offense other than pick setting, since he's too slow to roll and can't hit a pick & pop, so Tillman is effectively unplayable at this point. But I think the reasoning was to add a Bruiser when they got him.

He was a really good switch defender and they probably hoped he could eventually hit threes.

That can still happen.

Re: The big man rotation
I think XMan is definitely hobbled and playing him a ton may have hurt any possible chance of trading him when it came to passing the physical. So was Stevens and Joe keeping him on the bench hoping that a team would inquire? Now since a phone call wasn't made for him, maybe he magically starts to appear in games? Would have been nice to see that start last night but since they were playing from behind all night it wouldn't have made sense.

Is it possible that Tilman is still hampered by that off-season surgery?

No way he moves the Same this year as last year. He looks very heavy legged and slow. Last year he was surprising able to switch on quicker players often.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I’d love to see Anton Watson for a few minutes.
The thing about drafting older rookies like Watson and Scheierman is that you should be able to play them spot minutes as a rookie. If you are 23 or 24, why do you need a full redshirt year in Maine?
Did you know, just a deep pull here, that Brian Shaw played 40 minutes a game in the playoffs his rookie year? Even Delonte West played 14 minutes per game in the Playoffs as a rook. I saw Ty Lue say over the 82 games he wants to get every rostered player some time so he, as coach, can see what he has, but also to generate lineup data for the analytics dept/backbench coaches…. And the Celtics don’t seem to care about that…
Anyway, play Anton Watson, is the point!

Re: The big man rotation
Optionality is good when you're likely to face different types of lineups in the postseason. Celtics can go double big (quite a few combos they can use) or go small and switchable esp now with the addition of Torrey Craig. Their starting lineup who will likely cover at least 18 mins per game in the playoffs is a single-big lineup already. Their main second unit which is usually led by Tatum already has Hauser, PP, and Horford. They can go big with the 5th guy (Kornet/Queta/Porzingis) or small (Craig/Holiday/White). Brown-led lineups usually contain more starters but can also go either way (big/small).

Now just hope everyone stays healthy including Craig.
