Mavs are in a very, very, very weird and tough situation right now. There are few problems.

1. You can't tank, you simply can't anymore at this point. Even if they lose all games, they'll still be out of lottery. And we know this team is good enough to win games even without Kyrie and AD. Tanking is 100% not an option, unless you're ok with some middle of the pack pick.

2. Anytime a possibility of surgery is mentioned, you just know the injury is way more severe than first anticipated and it takes long time to fully heal on its own.

3. I think the best thing to do right now is just to soldier on. Try and win as much as you can and hope for the best.

4. This is tied to nr 3 and by that i mean, if you do make it through the play ins, they better hope Kyrie won't be worn out and AD stays healthy for the playoffs. With Lively's return they could go all the way. But like i said, moving forward, health is going to be a pure lottery.

They just have to give up... Only on this way you can calm the fans, this is no more a riot. This is war.

Hmmm... i would say, yes and no. "No" in a sense that they don't really need to give up. Like i said, this team is still good enough to win games and get at least to play ins. A healthy AD+Kyrie is still good enough to get you into the playoffs. But everyone will have to be healthy.

But yeah, i do agree if AD's injury shows it's more severe than it actually is, then Kyrie alone won't be good enough. That's a 1st or 2nd round exit.

Most importantly they should stop talking ****, I'm pretty sure Kyrie didn't like Zionist owners even before this events and it's highly unlikely his love for them is getting bigger with them **** on their ex player.

Yeah i think you're right. I can't see Kyrie extending. Obviously that is just speculation but even with AD and how detached from reality new owners are, Kyrie might look to go elsewhere. It's a freaking Zoo out there right now.

But he could also say, well Kidd is still there and he likes him, then there is AD plus other good guys, so he might bite the bullet and stay for 2 more years.

I don't know how accurate are reports, but you're considering surgery only, if there's a rapture. And if it's rapture, is season over, no matter what, if he goes to surgery or not.

I agree with giving up.

People need to understand there is no win in a losing situation. Left and right you will lose regardless.

We tank? No pick. We lose.
We play hard? We are not good enough to go deep in the playoffs and we face injury risk in this situation. We lose.

This is just an irrelevant wasted year/season. And many more seasons like this are coming up too.

This is the very price you must pay when you make idiotic trade, aka the worst trade in sports history.

So from what I saw on X last night surgery was already an option for AD before the trade to the Mavs happened. So what's even worse is Nico still went through with the trade knowing AD still needed the surgery.

AD is making KP look like an iron man.

At least Nico can make the case that the Mavs are undefeated with AD.

If he is out for any time longer than a month we should just shut it down, play our few young guys heavy minutes, and take our chances in the lotto.

Nico not only sabotaged our team for the long term, but completely destroyed this season as well. Now our window is down to 1 year.

If they don't make playoffs, it's over. Kyrie will just sign somewhere else. I would say the only option now is tank, it won't be difficult, and hope for miracle in lottery.

I expect Kyrie to leave regardless of the success of this team. The ownership group has proven to not be trustworthy.
