without turner they have zero rim protection. You can go into the paint and no your shot wouldn't be contested. KAT and Hart just lived in the paint off drives.

They haven't had a backup C in years, really weird how they've basically abandoned the position outside of Turner.

Yeah I think Isaiah Jackson is a decent small ball backup 5...he's given us some trouble in the past but he seems like he's always banged up.

I didn’t realize Thomas Bryant was that bad in this regard but I guess he is

oh yeah...Thomas Bryant has some decent offensive skill but he can't defend at all. Terrible rim protector.

Can’t believe we really got 2 second round picks back for a dunk contest guy

It's wild that the knicks are having one of the best seasons this century and posters decided to leave cause kat plays shtty defense and mikal was expensive.

Couldn't be me. I watched games when Alex Shved was the best player. Acting like we're too good for a 2nd round exit team is some wild delusion for a knicks fan.

Well in many ways we know this is a different game with Turner playing. But we were down some guys too, I’ll take the W

yes Turner pick and pop opens a lot of Haliburton so KAT really didn't have to worry about Bryant pulling up above the break and he could focus more on helping Mikal and whoever navigate haliburton

But yes we are down a couple guys and Brunson was in foul trouble so I don't feel bad for them at all. This was a very good win.

random thought on plus minus. i know it doesn't really matter, but should free throws and therefore plus/minus be accredited to who was on the floor when the foul occurred rather than who is in at the time of the free throw?

for example at the end we fouled intentionally to empty the bench - bench comes in and immediately has a -2 plus minus despite that not having anything to do with them.

anyways often times i like the way the team plays when brunson is on the bench. obviously brunson is the engine but he's so ball dominant and we don't push the ball as much off makes/misses. ball movement is better and Kat is featured more. ideally they could figure out a balance when brunson is used to his strengths but not at the detriment of ball movement, pace, etc. and obviously defense is a lot better with Deuce or Cam is in there instead of him.

this was a nice feel good win. knicks have done a good job righting the ship after bad losses/stretches.

looking forward to OG and mitch coming back. for the "no way you play mitch with Kat" people - this coach had hart-precious-Huk out there. i don't think he cares about spacing

I think mitch and Kat is a great pairing depending on matchups. against a team like the celtics no, but lots of teams that rely more on dribble penetration, paint scoring and/or rebounding - he will help a lot.

And McClung is still better than him. Oh and Nate too.

Great win. Looking forward to beating ATL tomorrow and then getting rest for the team. Hoping we can get both OG and Mitch back immediately after the ASB. Then we can start building that chemistry to get ready for the playoffs. Fun time to be a fan. This is way better than anything I have seen since the turn of the century. Let's go Knicks.

Great game. Pacers are a team you just have to beat. Is it me or does it seem like Towns is getting his 3 pointer back?

And Shamet....I was ready to say this dude was completely cooked on offense. Once again he started out not being able to hit the side of a barn, but he surprised me and kept his head up.

Once he finally hit that corner 3 it seemed like the floodgates opened. Quick cuts to the basket for easy layups , and no hesitation on his pullups. I hope this game is the one to unlock him. Because he was already doing his thing decently on the other side of the ball.

His defense is nice. Just need him to consistently hit open 3s and he would be a serviceable bench player.

Ungrateful pricks, the lot of them

That would be 4-1 without OG. I told people not to panic, let him come back after the all star break

Towns getting his 3 back is the difference between between the team being good and very good.
