In better position sure but don't think its significantly changes the Naz equation, more than likely it would have a much greater impact on a NAW. That said as great as NAW has been I think most would agree DDVs shooting is a more important skill to keep than the defense of NAW especially since given Clark and TSJ skills are better suited to replace NAW not DDV.

any ORL fan will agree with you...we love defense, but occasionally putting one in the basket would be nice

What about something like Brandin Podzemski and Buddy Heild for DDV + ??? (Leonard Miller? 2nds?).

Minnesota probably makes it a 3-team deal sending Hield (and maybe a 2nd? Or maybe a team values Hield into their MLE?) to save cap space.

I think it depends on if the plan is to bring in KD, and if Randle opts in or out of his player contract.

If they make an offer for KD(Rudy+Randle)... How would DDV look for Gafford?

I don't think these trades are anything particularly close...

DDV is on a ~15m contract for 2 more seasons after this and since 12/19 has been averaging just shy of 20/6/6 per 36 on 46% 3 point shooting (15/4/4 in the 28 min he has averaged).

Randle's 32m contract comes off the books after next season. Gobert's 35m contract would have 2 more years after next season and is likely movable.

I don't see the Wolves having any issue retaining Donte, nor would I want to do that. I wouldn't want a lateral player or even late 1sts back for Dante. I would want to use Dante as part of a deal to get a legit asset or I wouldn't want to do a deal.

People in this thread need to get real.

Maybe DDV + Leonad Miller + Utah 2nd for Christie + Gafford

Isnt anthony at 13m next yr? That's more than ddv, which is a no go from the start.

If the goal is to free up money and minutes to bring back NAW (i tnink id rather have ddv but thats not the point of the thread) and the young guys, they'd be better off with only the pick coming back.

First, no thanks. Second, Simons makes $15M more than DDV and even without factoring in money I'd rather have Donte.

You severely overvaluing DDV then. OP mentioned not enough minutes with other players rising and getting a pick or cap relief. A non lot FRP is valuable. Can find rotation player there on cheap contract for 4 years. Cole Anthony is a backup PG in this league meant to give you quick pt in 15-18min and basically expiring after next year (team option).

Your not getting a similar player on that contract and a FRP. DDV is a solid bench scoring 3Pt shooter. Useful to many teams but your not getting 6th man of the year price.

I love DDV...but I wouldn't trade Christie for him OR Gafford for him, let alone add draft equity. I think the vision of DDV here is way out of proportion to what he really is...a solid rotation player, maybe a starter on some teams, but not a principal guy.

I don't think anyone has said a non lottery 1st doesn't have value. And I certainly see anthony as a decent packup PG, but also a fairly well paid one.

The issue is for a team trying to win, trading the better player on the better contract for the worse player on the worse contract to get a late 1st doesn't seem like a great use of assets. Especially for a team that is going to be counting every penny, paying more this year isn't going to fit what they need.

Fair enough. If that's the case, I'm not sure Minny will be able to get back for DDV that is equivalent in production and contract. Prob just end up keeping him. Unless Minny is looking for backup big like WCjr, then not sure were good trade candidate.

There you go then. I don’t see a reason to trade Dante unless it was an overpay
