Fair enough. But I deplore the trend of the critics talking about other critics, so that they become the show. I want them talking about the actual show. If Charles wants to talk about the Cavs, then go ahead and do so ... please.

Chuck is smart. He knows that he doesn't get paid for his basketball knowledge. He gets paid for being a reality TV personality, in particular for taking shots at people.

He is absolutely right though. The National media treats the Lakers like they are their home team. They don't talk about anyone else. They never talk about what the Cavs are doing. What OKC is doing. Knicks are the biggest market, yet we haven't heard a peep about them. So they essentially tune out or alienate the majority of the league's fans because of it.

Good point. I will say that LBJ still carries a disproportionate media share, and now that they have Luca, it's interesting. My new favorite phrase for LA is the GOAT and the "pig"...funny. Not that they'll be firing their GM anytime soon, but if AK went there, they could add an A$$ to their farm.

Jokic with the first 30-20-20 triple double in NBA history. What a player.

Bulls West have been what Bulls East hoped to be. 7-3 over the past 10 games with DDR and Zach alternating games as the team's leading scorer, with the combination reliably going for 40 to 60 points.

This goes back to my point I made even last year. Jokic is the cream of the crop best player. If he is the best, he should be MVP. Dont give me that crap about voter fatigue. If you are the best, then someone has to knock you out to be the best.

Wayne Gretzky won 8 straight MVPs and 9 of 10. That is how it should be.

What the NBA is doing is making a sidebar and an asterisk to why the other guy won. Because when you look back at it historically, it won't make any sense.

Cause there is no way to justify last year winning MVP getting

26.4 pts 12.4r rebs 9 asts

This year avg

28.9 pts 12.9 rebs 10.6 asts and possibly not winning MVP?

That makes no sense.

This year in particular, he could win MVP in any year in any era, in the existence of the league.

I think SGA is great, but no one would ever say SGA is better than Jokic. Not even this season. But voters want to say well Jokic has won it the last few years and maybe SGA should get one, so lets give it to him. That is nonsense.

What they need to do is like create a secondary achievement. Offensive MVP or something on those lines.

No doubt… Shai’s having a historic, insane season, yet Jokic is still ahead in almost every stat.

The only thing is Shai’s team is 11 wins ahead, and he did it with his 2nd best player missing most the year.

Due to that, I’d say Shai has a case.

MVP has never been the best player, it's always been more about team success. Jordan only won 5 MVPs while being the consensus best player in the league for close to 15 years.

If Denver drops to 4th in the WC / 8th overall, I don't think there's any chance he gets MVP.

Raw boxscore of Joker is amazing, but it's not all that different (29 / 13/ 10) than Westbrook (32 / 11/ 10) and people have called him one of the worst MVPs in history.

It's not even the triple double argument. It's also the fact that is he is ahead of everybody in almost every advancing stat. I think there is no metric available to us that shows Shai is more valuable than Joker. Joker should be on his way to his 5th straight MVP this year. The best part of this whole discussion is that Joker couldn't give any less thought to it. He literally doesn't care. Shai has had a great year, but many players have had great years in the past, Joker is on a historical run.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Jokers numbers impact winning by a much larger degree imo. Narrative is key in winning an NBA MVP. Russell had the "screw KD, look at this loyal guy who play his ass off" the year he won. SGA being someone who has never won but is a top 5 guy on the team with the best record will be enough this year. So its 1993 all over again where Joker is Jordan and SGA is Barkely.

Exactly. And the Suns had 62 wins, the Bulls 57. Everyone knew MJ was better than Barkley he was 33 / 7 / 6 that year and almost won DPOY 1st all Defense, Barkley was 25/12/5 with no defense. But it still went to Barkley.

And the crazy thing is that MJ didn't even come in 2nd. To say MJ isn't the best player in the league in his prime is one thing, but to say he's not even in the top 2? The award just has not been about the best player.

It sounds like DeAaron Fox is going to get surgery on his pinky and will probably be out for the rest of the season.

The Spurs continue to tank.

He's been struggling with that injury all year apparently. Now that Wemby is down, they might as well let him get the surgery and sit him the rest of the season, they'll take the 8th spot in the lottery from the Bulls very soon.

Watch them jump into the top 4 from the 8th spot...

EPM
SGA: 8.9
Jokic: 8.2

DARKO
SGA: 6.27
Jokic: 6.5

LEBRON
SGA: 6.71
Jokic: 6.51

RAPTOR
SGA: 9.9
Jokic: 9.9

I don't care who wins but right now advanced metrics have them pretty even.

This just isn't the case.

SGA is ahead in Estimated EPM and Actual EPM

https://dunksandthrees.com/epm

SGA is ahead in LEBRON and LEBRON WAR

https://www.bball-index.com/lebron-application/

Jokic has a small but clear lead in PER, however this stat is has been discredited for years at this stage because of how it favors bigs. (Everyone in the top 10 except SGA is a big, including role player centers)

https://insider.espn.com/nba/hollinger/statistics

They are dead even in RAPTOR

https://neilpaine.substack.com/p/2024-25-nba-forecast

SGA and Jokic have been back and forward on win shares all season long, and SGA will have a very slight lead after tonights H2H match is included.

I think the more BS calls will go away in the playoffs. But this is yet another reason to not watch regular season games.

Been watching the warriors since Jimmy was traded there. Jimmy and Steph great as ever.

However the player that has stood out to me is Moses moody. He's what bulls fans wish Pwill was at this point.
