Why would a foreign black french guy want to go live full time in the USA at this moment? Dude's not a fool. He already made 40mil in his career. He's set for life. Enjoy the ride in Toronto as a contributor on a much better team. Make a few mil a year. Live in Canada.

Boucher and the Raptors clearly have a contract under the table. His agent would have asked him to be released already if the Raps were deliberately holding him back. Raps want to win again next season and Boucher is a good forward to have off the bench. Hopefully it’s not too much money.

He is not injured and ´10 days contract’ players are playing, while he is not.
He can’t be the tank killer while Barnes and Poeltl are playing.

What part don't you get?

Barnes and Yak are part of the core, Boucher is not.

Boucher could get hot and win some games we want to lose vs playing Mogbo, Orlando, etc.. who won't do that.

Teams know what Boucher is, so his FA status won't be impacted.

They talked to him, and he didn't ask for a buyout to move on or anything, so he understands the situation and is "ok" with it. Sure he wants to play, but not bad enough to ask for a buyout, complain to media, etc...

(the part I don’t get: is it the plan to keep him next year?)
The core is not less a tank killer than Boucher

And why he is not playing 5 min during a 25 points lead or a 25 points deficit?

Teams know what Poeltl is, so his FA status won’t be impacted. (especially considering it’s not this year).
"But the thing is, maybe I do want to wake up one morning and say, `Baby, let's go to the Bahamas. Today.' That costs money. So what if I want to do that?

He might be back or might be part of a sign and trade. Boucher is probably just happy to collect his money not move and use practice to stay in shape. Whatever ailments are bogging him down he has time to heal completely.

The core has not had really any reps together so getting some games where IQ, Tak and Barnes play together, helps for next year, hopefully.

That's completely different than Boucher out there chucking 3's with Castleton.

Personally I think they have talked and the Raps have told him what type of contract they can offer him next year AND what role to expect. But have also said if he wants to see if he can get more elsewhere, they understand.

So that would explain why he doesn't play...stay healthy for FA. But also why no buyout, no complaining to media...he likes TO, might stay, so no sense burning bridges.

Plus they might have told him it also depends where they pick in the draft because that also determines cap space.

Thing is next year when we try and win games, Boucher could be a good bench piece given we lack size and Mogbo needs 905 time to develop offense.

In the end, it will all work itself out one way or another. I bet Chris plays our last home game of the season vs Hornets even if it’s just a few mins....just in case it's his last time as a Rap at home.

Plenty of assumptions here lol. What is the relevance of being black or French here? People in Toronto don't speak any more French than any part of the states. Since when did we become a top team in the NBA? And who's to say that living in Canada is more enjoyable for him?

Maybe you bean counters. A pro doesn’t want to sit on a bench all season, not for some g league scrubs that wont be on an nba roster next season.

We are pretty short on bigs. It wouldn't make sense to let him go he has a rare combo of length and rim protection if he's back on a good idea I'd keep him. There was enough interest in him that he could be flipped in the future and we need those inbetween contracts that aren't minimums and not maxes so we can make trades in the future.

Pretty foul behaviour from the FO to do him like this.

Without reading a single post in this thread, the "real reason" why Boucher keeps getting benched:

'25 ON/OFF = +8.4
'24 ON/OFF = +12.2

The fanbase has **** talked him too for ages. Boucher is an excellent rotation player by any and all standards.
