Game 73: Knicks at Bucks - 3/28/25 - 7:00 - FDSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:02 pm

Bucks face the Knicks for the third and final time this season. We got whipped in the first two games, both on the road. No word if Giannis is playing. The initial injury report will be out later this afternoon. His foot injury isn't serious but with just 10 games left he has to be in bubble wrap. Meanwhile the Knicks are treading water until Brunson gets back. They are pretty much locked into the 3 seed. Kolek returns to FiServ. He's been elevated into playing meaningful minutes the past 3 games. And although his shooting has sucked he does have 24 assists in 57 minutes the past 3 games. I think he'll have a nice career as a 15 MPG game bench guy.

No doubt Brook can get played off the court in certain matchups. But he can also be very very good. And Doc has him playing the most MPG since 2015-16. And he's sat out just one game. Last year he sat out 3 games, the year before 4. He turns 37 next week. Dumb.

This is game 20 of Portis' suspension, he's scheduled to return 4/8 against Minnesota.

As usual, please keep the posts in this thread on THIS game only. You can continue talking about the trade, Kuzma, etc... in the team, ATL and PG threads. Thanks.

Giannis probably could've played last night but they probably figured let him get an extra day of rest and let's not screw around so close to the playoffs, especially after the Dame news. Would be nice to get a quality win against the top of the East once.

Would be nice I guess to win a game against a top team but it seems like the only drama these last 10 games is just going to be whether we end up the 5 or 6 seed and I'm not sure how much that matters. Health is more important than whether we play DET, IND or NYK.

Bunch of coworkers and I were planning on hitting up the Knicks game a couple months back, but decided to wait on buying tickets.

No Dame and likely Giannis has fizzled out our interest in going.

When the Knicks lead guard is the honoree at a mid-day invite-only meal function that's when I call it "Jalen's Luncheon" feel free to use no big deal this is a limited time offer

I think we hit the 0-10 mark against the East’s top 3 if we drop this one.

So we lost to good teams when it's cold
And the pundits all tongue-cluck and scold
In the spring of the year
If we kick it in gear
There's a new tale all set to be told

The "can't beat good teams" narrative is a little galling, especially after handling OKC pretty easily in the in-season tourney. But OK, let that be the narrative going into the playoffs and let's see what happens.

No Brunson and I can see this game being close, maybe even sneak a win out here if we get the "I ain't **** leaving" version of Giannis. Doesn't really matter either way though.

I'd definitely sit Giannis this game. He needs to play 6/10 or 5/10 depending if he gets credit for that under 20 minute game. I would play him the absolute minimum but let him get all nba. 5.5 lead on the Hawks and if we beat them on Sunday that probably locks the 6 seed so play him in that game.

I would sit him too. First playoff game is 22-23 days from today, can't FAFO. However, I think the fact it's the first home game in awhile may tilt things toward playing tonight.

if Giannis is actually hurt and him sitting out Denver was more than rest, just shut him down the rest of the season.

if that was rest, then let's see what Giannis and crew can do the rest of the way. honestly, it would be a ton of fun even if our ceiling is chopped off without Dame. the team tends to play harder with Dame out, the defense is certainly better. let's just mash teams with our size and see what happens.
