Mitch needs to play more, lead the team in boards, only 1 of 2 guys with a positive +/- we should see a lot of

Brunson
OG
Bridges
KAT
Mitch

They will play better on the road and come back up 3-1 people think your just going tin steamroll teams in a series, refs let them play physical the first 3 quarters. It will even out.

This all falls on Thibs for not stressing a faster pace on offense and by continuing to play Hart and Kat heavy minutes together.

Teams are basically playing 5 on 4 when Hart is on the floor, which allows opposing teams wings to defend Kat and allows them to put their center or worst defender on Hart.

This all falls on Thibs for forcing something that hasn’t worked the entire season. It’s so easy to game plan against this team, and honestly I am sick and tired of pointing out something that is so obviously easy to adjust to with just a few tweaks of the lineup.

If I’m Detroit I’m utterly thrilled whenever Hart goes to set a screen. For starters he ain’t slipping it to shoot a 3 or be a threat to do so, and he’s not exactly flashing below the FT line to score. In that same token, KAT is already iced out, Mikal is in the corner hoping the rock doesn’t come his way and a self creating OG isn’t exactly what you wanna draw up. That’s why you’ll see Jalen try to will us to a victory tired legs and all. All at times our offense looks like an out of bounds play with 7 seconds left on repeat.

lets talk about this...why is this so bad?

This is the easiest switch in the world yet this "well coached" team continues to f*ck these simple switches up.

Now Brunson is clearly at fault...that 100000% needs to be a switch...but come on...is it because Brunson is playing 44 minutes? That effort and communication is poor. That is inexcusable. And its not just those two guys...it has happened way too much this year...

TKKnicks1 wrote:Y'all saying KAT needed to be more assertive really need to go back and replay that 2nd half. Every play was designed for JB. Everyone else on the floor was a decoy. JB made some good reads but overall it was designed for him to ISO, beat his man and score. Not once was it changed up in that 2nd half. KAT got zero touches, zero plays drawn for him, he shot literally 1 time I believe the entire half. This is your 7 foot perennial all star who shoots the clip at 50%! He got 1 shot and no touches in 2 quarters of basketball. He was a decoy and after thought. Not sure how you want a player to be assertive in that situation when he's just there to take up space like the other 3 players that shared the court.

I'm not going to totally let KAT off the hook, he does need to start demanding the ball more. He has had this problem before but to absolutly freeze him out like today is criminal and the team and gameplan has to take a large chunk of blame. Bigs don't call the shots, that's the guards and coaching staffs job to get them lots of looks. Again, KAT could assert himself more but the team should be making this easy for him.

It’s not supposed to be anything unless the players/coach call it. If the coach says the gameplan is no switches then players will choose different angles to stay on their own man. They could’ve communicated better during that exchange but they aren’t going to just switch.

I honestly prefer Brunson on Harris than a guard tho. Thats part of the reason why he gave Dennis space. He doesn’t have the quickness defensively to keep up with most guards.

Thibs is good for making ball clubs competitive again.

But he just has a certain ceiling and is extremely limited and stubborn when it comes to thinking outside the box. They need to find their own version of Atkinson, and need a better bench. I just want a new coach with Mikal on the team, so that new coach can drive up his value, and then ship him off for role players that fit this team.

It's because they've been coached to protect the paint at all costs, the guy rolling to the rim is more dangerous than the ball handler at the 3 line if you think it's still 2014 and you're coaching against John Wall.

i mean to me there was zero reason for hart to switch there... he wasn't even screened.

edit: i suppose the reason to switch would be tobias going towards the rim and JB out of position to stop that? either way yea bad job by both getting stuck in between.

KAT at dinner with Leon Rose:

"It's me or Thibs. Choose."

Of all the people who should know better how to utilize KAT, it is Thibs.

This Orc seems to be on a mission to empower the roster to ignore their best natural scorer.

None of this makes a lick of sense.

If I were KAT I'd tell Rose to wake TF up.

Thibs has got to go.

I have another dumb question.

Why we we the only team that doesn’t set down or staggered screens for someone to pop to the top for an open look? Don’t have the personnel?

Seems like that’s it at least A PLAY.
